Has Ray gotten any clean looks this entire series?

No KG= no team has to double our post players (perk and baby have been playing well, but they don't exactly demand a double)

Rondo not having a jumper= no need to stay with him.

thus every team is free to do what its doing, stick a guy to ray ( lee is playing great defense) with help, and double paul every time he sniffs the ball.

He has gotten some looks, but a lot less than usual.  Lee has been playing him really tightly and doing a great job. 

Part of his struggles are a slump, but a lot of it is also coming from good defense.

Yes he's had a fair amount of good looks, he's just missing them. I can accept that he's in a shoting slump, but does that mean he has to keep turning the ball over also? The last two game have been dreadful.

They keep mentioning his 5 for 32 or 5 for 33 streak from three point land and I know that a ton of those have been open looks. What concerns me is not that he is in a slump but that the last 2 games, late in games he looked almost afraid to take a shot.

Lots of times, last night especially, he's had the 1 second opening to take the shot because he's had separation but didn't shoot it. And this is after they had Rondo dribbling for 10-12 seconds at the top of the key waiting for Ray to run past screens to achieve that separation. That's disconcerting. Doc is calling his number, the entire possession is built around getting Ray an open look, he gets that bit of an opening needed and then he hesitates and then the opening is gone.

That is troubling to me!

He is 5-36 or 14 percent from behind the arc in this series.

if we get past Orlando I wouldn't expect the "slump" to end.  The Cavs are one of the only teams that really seem to put a priority on taking Ray Allen out of the game.  Last year they were sending two guys out there to push him away from the arc.  The way they took Ray out of that series even WITH KG playing seems like it's unlikely he'll get open looks if we get that far.

he's passed up a number of good looks in the last 2 games, he is often hesitating. When he does that, he usually follows it with a turnover. The team as a whole are hesitating or overthinking, they just have to let it ride

Hot/Cold is the life of a jumpshooter. What bothers me is:

a) he's not taking the ball to the rim (often enough)
b) the turnovers (he's too [dang] smart to be turning the ball over that often, PP too!)

Plus I hate the fact he has to come off screens and take a fading 3 pointer to one side as his first or second shot. Ray needs to get some easy looks and some drives to the basket to get into a good rhythm then he will start hitting his shots with more consistency.

It's also unfair not to mention that he's had about 5 3's that were in and then just popped out or some that just rimmed out. He's not making his 3's but he's not completely off...it's not like he's hitting backboard here.

Not to sound rude, but it's not like you get 2 points for shots poppong out or 1 for hitting the rim. It's the NBA and he's Ray Allen. I don't think anyone expects that he won't be catching iron here. You are kidding yourself if you can not admit that Ray is in an awful shooting slump because some of his shots are close.

Hate to say it but he's had a few airballs too.  It's not like they were all close either.

that wasen't his point on any level.

He was simply pointing out, correctly, that ray is at least semi on target, which is hopeful. Kinda like when you see a hitter foul off some pitches straight back, and you can infer he's right on with his timing, and he MAY be coming out of it soon, not that he will.
