First a sober thought: Maybe Doc shouldn't have played Ray 36+ minutes a game during the regular season.
Now for venting: Ray Allen at this point in his career is no better than JJ Redick.
Barf!
I hope this comment is tongue and cheek. To say Ray is no better at this point than JJ Redick is absurd. People seem to forget the kind of season Ray had. He was our most consistent player and he had one of his best and most efficient shooting seasons of his career. Has he struggled in this round? Absolutely, but we would not even be here if it weren't for Ray. Both he and Pierce have played an INSANE amount of minutes this season and in these playoffs, and I don't care if they are 25 or 55, it is amazing they have anything left in the tank.
As for last night, yes Ray missed some/all crucial shots, but how about we spread the blame around? Rondo is playing great ball and putting up outrageous stats (hello 15 rebounds) but his failure to keep his man from penetrating at will continues to hurt us. Its sends our D scrambling and opens up wide open jump shots and easy put backs for Howard. He also seems to make awful passing decisions at crucial points in the ball game. (I realize his assist to turnover ratio is also absurd, but its when he is doing it.) The offensive fouls and travels by Perk in the last few minutes did not help either. It was a collective effort to lose that game.
Here is hoping Jesus goes off on Sunday and quiets down all the haters.
