Charles Barkley prediction

I love hearing Barkley on the halftime show. If any of you don't like his opinions don't watch... I sure as heck don't watch the clowns at ESPN or ABC. Such boring half times...

The TNT crew is absolutely my favorite sports entertainment panel. And Barkley is right:

Orlando has more talent than the injured Celtics. They "should" win the series. But the Celtics and their heart are proving people wrong.

Also, Barkley keeps saying that this Celtic team is not the true Boston Celtics, because KG is out. Right on Chuck! I love hearing a guy express his honest opinions, and be funny at the same time. Amazing. I'll give Charles Barkley a tommy point if i ever see him.

Barkley's just being Barkley!  Hyperbo-Barkley!

Clearly he underestimated how much heart and determination factor into the outcome.  From a skill and talent perspective, Orlando's the better team.  However, I think Doc and Danny purposefully assembled this type of team because they think character, heart and chemistry win out over talent.  I do find it comical when people always associate skill and talent with the outcome.  Just look at international ball, where the US clearly assembles to best team talent-wise, but until these past Olympics, would get beat by less skilled and talented teams?

BTW, have to point this out.  Even though players and coaches say one playoff game has no bearing on the next, does anyone else believe like me the fact that we were able to essentially erase a 28 point deficit in game 1 influenced the outcome here in game 5?  You don't think a single Magic player was thinking, "Uh-oh, here we go again!" Or the Celts were thinking, "Ok, we've done this before now let's close this one out unlike game 1?"

people are allowed to be wrong on their initial impressions. I though GG would be a productive NBA player at one point  .

Very weak defense of Barkley.  He loves to make these bold predictions, as if it is gospel. More often than not he is wrong. He was a great player but is a mediocre commentator, and a poor prognosicator. He predicted we would lose every series last year other than the ATL. Guys like him have used up their excuses, don't create more for them.

Why does he need defending? because he didn't pick us?

should he be sorry or need defending because he looked at a depleted celtics team with exactly two viable big men due to injuries and picked the squad that on paper should win?

I don't see what's the problem.  I would have made the same prediction myself.  That is why this has been so enjoyable. The dying swan song of a champ.  These guys got so much heart.  This is about where I thought the C's would be when they made the trade for Allen before KG.  Big baby is giving us about what Jefferson would have.

sir charles is jealous as hell that the big three got their rings and he never did, even when he went to the suns with KJ, or later on to the rockets to play with olajuwon and drexler, they couldn't get it done. It hurt him to see Ray Allen, KG, and Pierce get it done last year, he can't get over it, it's understandable.

Barkley is who he is.  A loud, vocal, "tell it as it is" commentator.  Much like a modern day Howard Cossell.  Granted he played the game but I see him more as entertainment value than being a true "analyst" in the sense.  When he wants to be, he can talk the game with the best of them but, too often, I think he just throws things out there for shock value.  

I wouldn't get worked up too much about anything he says.
