He might play in CLEV, but it would have to be a major brain fart on his and his agents part not to get more than the vet min.

Home town discounts are one thing, going to what? 1.2 instead fo the 3 mill he's worth? doubt it.

It's really not that doubtful. He's already expressed that he wants to stay in Cleveland (doesn't want to move again) and that he'd be willing to stay in Cleveland for a smaller contract, so don't be shocked if he does take the veteran minimum.

I think you vastly underestimate what he means by taking a smaller contract.

He's not bron-bron, 1.8 million is alot of money to wally.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if he signs with CLEV for less than the 3ish million he will probley command a year, but it wont be for 66% less than he can get at full market value.

I'd expect to see Wally get around the LLE from Cleveland -- close to $2mil. Maybe for just one year, or two years.

Cleveland has his bird rights. They don't need to use the LLE on him or anything like that. How much he would be offered is all about how much more tax Cleveland would pay to keep him for depth.

Wally made 13mil this year but has seen a substantial drop-off in minutes and production, but has had his second best defensive rating of his career at 105, his career worst is 112. With his age, decreasing production, and injury history do you think we could land him? after this year he could bring that "Championship Experience"

no thanks, we don't need anyone like him off our bench. We need guys that can play some D and have some speed and toughness

Exactly, and there's nothing tough about Wally at all - something that will be on display in the ECF ;)

Seriously though, he's a bit of a cancer, a streaky shooter (at best) and a weak defender overall. Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather see Billy.

Ugh, no thanks. Even if we could pay that clown in hair gel, I want nothing to do with him.

Also, ever notice how he won't be into a game at all, just idly running up and down the court, and then, as soon as he hits a shot, he suddenly starts clapping his hands on his way down the court and cheering and pointing at teammates like it was Game 7 of the NBA Finals, no matter what the opponent or score? That guy is a tool. Shipping him out of town was the best best non-KG move Danny ever made.

And I think you vastly overestimate what he means by taking a smaller contract...point? It's just speculation at this point, and that's my opinion. From what he said, it wouldn't be shocking.  That doesn't mean I don't think he'll get more, but it wouldn't surprise me.

For reasons already well expressed, pass on Wally at any price.
