Made 21.3 million this year, how much do you think he'll get next year?

He'd be yet another player on the second unit who couldn't create his own offense or score the basketball. We also need the MLE for Glen Davis, so we couldn't afford a superstar who was already in deep decline, anyway.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Did Dallas acquire his Bird Rights (if there were any) when they traded Harris for him?

If so, I don't see how Cuban lets him walk; he'll probably match or beat any other offer out there, which likely won't top the MLE.

In other words, I think Kidd can expect $5 mil next season, and perhaps a little more.

lol we'd essentially be spending millions on a coach for Rondo, but who wouldn't want to have Jason Kidd in Rondo's ear all season...

Whenever mentioning the best PG's in the game JKidd is always the first name out of Rondo's mouth. I think it'd be good.

Unfortunately, Rondo needs somebody to teach him how to shoot more than anything - and Jason Kidd isn't on my short list in that category.

He has Ray Allen as a teammate... you'd think that would have rubbed off on Rondo by now... although his form is looking a bit better.

Ray Allen is on this team...

I don't think Ray is getting through to him.  Supposedly Ray and Sam were the only two players that Rondo really listens to, but it's been two years with only a marginal improvement in his jumpshot - and his FT% has actually gotten slightly worse from the 06-07 season.

I know we like to believe that anyone can master a jumpshot and be a good to great shooter with tons and tons of hard work, but its just not true. some guys just have great cordination for jumpshooting, some don't. if you locked rondo in a room for 18 hours a day shooting jumpshots for a few years, he wouldn't suddenly become ray allen. he would improve, sure, but there's only so far a bad shooter can improve.

Look a jason kidd, who still can't shoot consistanly after it being a weakness of his for his entire career. do you seriously belive a guy as dedicated as jason kidd doesn't work to be the best shooter he can be? what do you think his problem is more likely to be, lack of desire and work ethic or lack of the ability to shoot like a great gaurd shooter?

I think rondo will improve that jumper a bit, but much like tony parker or jason kidd, who have both done a ton of work on it, he just may not be a good shooter, and he may have a pretty average top end shooting percentage.
