I am confident that refs are contunually missing goaltending calls on Howard...At least 3 of them last night and throughout the series as a whole. He rarely actually blocks the ball on the way up on help D...Straight up D his blocks however are usually legit. It just seems that refs for whatever reason have trouble judging goaltending of a few players in the league howard...Amare are  players whose names first come to mind.

Dwight Howard is superhuman, so when he blocks a shot and it looks like goaltending it's just because the sheer force of his efforts warps space time to make it look like he's hitting it higher in the shot than he actually is.

The refs have been briefed on this little known phenomenon, and therefore never call goaltending on Dwight.

I have a suggestion: Don't think of it as a missed judgement but a blatant noncall because of who he is and the NBA's want to make more $$$$$

He just moves too fast for the ref's eyes to follow. That's how he gets away with 10-15 moving picks a quarter.

Come on guys, are you serious?  This conspiracy stuff is ridiculous?  Do you really think that that really is going on in the refs head?  How does letting Howard get away with goaltending make the NBA more money?  The way to get more viewers to keep the game close, and to give the magic an unfair advantage would allow them to blow the Celts out by more.  If anything the NBA would want the Celtics to advance because they will draw better ratings than the magic.  Dwight Howard isn't a big start to the casual fan and the Celtics team would draw better ratings than Howard.  If there are any teams that should not worry about conspiracies going against them are the Celtics, Lakers, and at this point the Cavs.

I did not say there was a conspiracy, but I see how you could have taken it that way. I don't subscribe to a conspiracy. If you have seen past posts of mine you would see that. But I do believe stern does nothing to improve the horrible officiating that occures with regularity, and he likes star treatmment because it make the good look better, thus bringing in more $$$. Howard is benefiting from his status and plays that are not obviouse goaltends are not being called on him.

The league makes more $$ when it has stars that draw fans. The league knows this and is why imo that they dont due anything about the sad state of officiating. Why else is Lecrab allowed to rape and pillage the country side without recourse. The league helps build stars by inaction. Stern has crafted this and it will continue until he's gone.

I don't know about all of them but the one on Marbury last night would have been called goal tending 99% of the time if it was anyone but howard.

You would think that the Celtics would get preferred treatment because of the history and the fans, but this is not the case. We get owned by refs and the NBA because we have basically 4, or 5, of the most hated players in the league.
If you're not a C's fan, you hate Pierce, KG, and definitely Starbury. Rondo and Perkins, especially Rondo, are quickly climbing up that list.

The entire country does not want to see the Celtics succeed.

Honestly, I really do not think that contributes to Dwight Howard getting the benefit of the doubt on the goaltending call and that the refs are trying to make him a bigger star.  To say that they are doing that is to claim there is a conspiracy theory.  Remember, he fouled out last night.  If they were trying to make him a bigger star he would never foul out and they sure wouldn't have suspended him in the philly series.

I have to disagree completely on this.  If the country hates them so much, why were KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Ray among the league leaders in jerseys sold?  Obviously, hated or not, they're marketable and will draw better ratings than the magic.  If you are going with hatred as a reason not to have them advance, the Lakers would not have made the playoffs because Kobe is THE most hated player in the league.  I think we all know the NBA isn't in the business of giving the fans what they want.

His block on Stephon I do believe was on it's way down but aside from that, they all just seemed like awsome blocks in my opinion.
