I suppose it will be a hard match. Who do you guys think will win?
it's too difficult for me to predict, though I hope Houston can win.
tell me your reasons.

I like houston in this one although the lakers losing fisher is actually a boost to the Lakers.

Brooks made Fisher look old and lethargic in the last 2 games thats probably why he tok his frustration out on scola.

IMO Anderson and Farmar are already better players that Fish

Every so often a great series comes out of nowhere and this is it, I watched game 2 on the edge of my seat, and can't wait to tune in tonight for game 3.  I haven't been this excited for a non-Celtic series since the Dallas v. Golden St upset series.

Much like the Chicago series, calling a winner is tough.  The Rockets have several warts: Artest's head, the inability to score off turnovers, and not much has been made in the media about the Wafer ejection for arguing w/ his own coach during the game (don't see that much from Championship contenting teams!).

All that being said, they are a perfect matchup for the Lakers, who are soft as tissue paper and have been completely exposed during the series.  In the end, I'm officially a Rockets fan until we play them.  Best team to but your chips on to Beat LA and possibly upset the Cavs (particularly because of the Artest/Battier matchups, though Yao doesn't hurt either).  Rockets are just one of those quirky, eccentric, fun teams that you can't help but enjoy, and I am now (can't believe it) a fairly huge Artest fan...

I'm going Rockets in 7, including a win for Houston tonight.  Why?  Because I want it to happen, it's good for basketball, and I relish the thought that even if they somehow survive this series (huge if), the Lakers will then have to deal with Denver before meeting the Cavs/Celtics in the Finals.  a good time to be a Laker-hater...

GO ROCKETS!!!

Reggie, I was thinking the same thing.  I don't watch a whole lot of "non-Celtics" NBA games, bit I think I'm going to suck it up and watch this one - especially given the relatively early starts tonight.

I see Kobe hoisting up 40 shots in a tight one and LA coming up short.
Yup

I think LA are the favourite every time they step on the court in this series. So, I'll pick LA.

...and unlike `86 I won't be mad at the Lakers for losing to the Rockets and "ducking" a rematch with the C's.
Yup

What a [dang] series, can't wait...

UPDATE: for those looking for more info on the Von Wafer ejection by his coach, I found this article that explains everything:

http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nba/090507_wafer_apologizes_fans

Quote
Wafer was taken to the locker room by Rockets personnel after what appeared to be a heated exchange with Adelman.

"Coach came up to me to sub (take) me out," Wafer said. "I stood up to let the player who was going in the game take my seat. I had a disgruntled look on my face and I dropped my water bottle. I didn't slam it or use extra force.

"That's when the situation escalated and he told me to go to the locker room."

Wafer said it was never his intention to show disrespect to Adelman.

He'll be playing in Game 3 tonight, looks to be sort of a non-issue...

Rockets win.  And God do I hope they win the series.  Nuggets Rockets WCF would be awesome, and it would guarantee that I would watch the Finals (if it's LA vs CLE I'm not watching).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Well, I don't know who will win tonight, but if the Rockets are to win the series, they have to win tonight. If LA wins tonight, the pressure is off and they can regroup to win a couple home games (if they don't steal two in Houston). But if Houston wins tonight, then LA faces huge pressure to win game 4 on the road or be down 3-1 in the series.

I will make this prediction (although it's not too bold): If Houston goes up 3-1, they'll win the series.

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
Even at Houston and without Fisher, Lakers are still the clear favourites.
