At least with this team they are like pansies. They bait players and then act like they did nothing and when the confrontation comes they laugh or walk away or turn their head away from the direct eye contact. No sack. They're wusses.

If you have a confrontation with a guy and you're going directly at him eye to eye and he looks down or to the side, or backs up or walks away you know he's a puss. You know you're gonna have a tangle if the guy comes straight back into to you, face on, eye to eye.

Look at the plays: every Laker player Baits the other players, then acts like nothing happened and avoids the direct ensuing confrontation. Won't go eye to eye.

Odom baits Scola, when Scola addresss it, Odom walks away, talking over his shoulder back at Scola. Then, he's laughing the next few plays. He's laughing because he's nervous.

Kobe? pulls dirty crap and then won't look Artest in the eye.
Fisher? Same
Odom? running for his life
Vujajic: same
Walton was the only guy who stood toe to toe and eye to eye with Scola...

Can't stand that! If you're going to pull crap like that, at least man up and own it. Take the confrontation too... total pansies. It's the only thing worse than doing the baiting in the first place...

Let's see:
We have "pansies", "no sack", "wusses",
"he's a puss" and "Lakers" all in the
same post. You know, it calls for a TP.

Agree by and large with what you are saying.  But the Lakers are smarter than you give them credit.  The goal isn't to get in a fight, the goal is to rattle and take the other team out of their game.  Effective or not is up for debate.  It was the strategy that Rodman used on Karl Malone.  I don't think it is coincidence that Rodman was coached by Phil, and the current crew of Lakers are also coached by Phil.  I think Phil loves that his team is playing these mind games with the opponents.

Artest: "Yo, you're messing with the wrong guy. Don't you know I'm Ron Artest?"

HA! That could possibly replace my OJ Mayo quote as the sig. Great stuff RonRon
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Mentioned this in the other thread, but the Lakers are making a conscious effort to be "tougher" and "more physical" after we smacked them around (cleanly) in the Finals last year.  It's funny that when they try to be physical, what winds up coming out is a bunch of dirty plays.  Says a lot about their personnel.

Also, I think a lot of players know Odom is in that Nowitzki category - dangerous when in a groove, but easily rattled by physicality and especially confrontation.  We saw that in the Finals and I think we'll see it this series too.

What a series this is shaping up to be - I still don't see the Rockets winning but they're making it very interesting to be sure.

Not trying to be the anti-homer here, but I bet a lot of Chicago fans would say that the Cs played dirty.  That all the "physicality" of the Cs play is really just dirty play.

I feel like I have been sticking up for the Lakers and other teams in a few recent threads, so before anyone gets the wrong impression, I just want to unequivocally state: I hate the Lakers and I love every team playing against the Lakers and love the Boston Celtics more than any other team.

My hatred is so deep rooted that it would be hard to state a "main reason" for it.  ;)

Rockets may not win this but are setting a blueprint for how to beat this team.
