going with the idea of not using stats to determine a players worth.. How about effort?
Ray and Paul bring it at a consistent level game to game. Some days the outside shot isn;t falling.
In the regular season, Rondo's effort has been up and down. He coasted more often than I liked. But he is young and is getting better all the time.
Rondo is not on Ray or Paul's level of consistent effort yet.
I think Rondo's lack of consistency is just the most obvious. Paul can play like crap in the first half, start heating up in the third and have a good 4th quarter and everyone's happy. Rondo has a game like that and he gets criticized.
paul also has somewhat misleading stats.
don't get me wrong, i think he's the best PG in the NBA at the moment. But he dominates the ball for 18-20 seconds on some possessions.
I remember a game from this year where they only had 17 assists all game, and paul had 16 of them.
Still love his game, and he's still the best....but i dunno, just seems to me that he might be the most ball hogging PG around...he just holds the ball so long in that offense.
