Statistically, Jason Kidd.  Rondo is ready to have the torch passed, though.

Much, much better game for Rondo tonight.  He came out aggressive, and it's showing.

a few years ago i would have said kidd, but age has run him down.

I'd say rondo now has that title.

Kidd still led all point guards in rebounds per minute this season.

yea...i guess, but just watching him he's lost some of his ability to rebound.

...a dominating force not just for the Celtics but in the NBA in general.

Only a handful of players can cause the kind of impact at both ends of the floor consistently enough....he is one of them.

At this point, I'd still take CP3, but my opinion may change by the end of the playoffs.

The difference between CP3 and Rondo is Rondo might not be better offensively or a "truer" PG, but Rondo can control the game on both sides of the ball.

CP3 doesn't actually play superior defense.

Rondo is way too inconsistent to be the best PG in the NBA.  He had three poor games in a row, followed by tonight's great effort.  If he's ever going to be on CP3's level, he needs to bring it every night.

I think Deron Williams is the standard Rondo should be striving for, not CP3.  The best point guard in the NBA doesn't get beaten by 58 on his home court.  I'm not fond of his game in the first place, but that erased all the respect I have for him.

The thing is would you trade rondo straight up for chris Paul? Even if you say yes I think you have to seriously think about it. Especially with how much Rondo has been progressing and especially after how hes preformed in the majority of the playoff games. It's at least getting pretty close to a toss up
