Like everybody else, I was shocked after the game 1 loss against Chicago and worried about the series but on the day before game 2 I was confident because I knew the Celtics wouldn't lose this game. The game was tough and they needed some clutch shots by Ray to win but they did tie the series, as expected.

I'm just wondering how you are feeling about tonight's game 2. Strangely, the worries of yesterday, which usually disappear (or at least diminish) on the day when game 2 is played, are still very present and I'm not so confident about the Celtics right now. I trust them and I'm still expecting a win to tie the series (and a great game by Ray) but I'm not really confident, in fact I'm quite worried.

I don't know if it's because Orlando is a better team than Chicago, or because the Magic was able to get a 28 point lead in Boston during game 1 (!). I know the Celtics weren't focused until the last 16 minutes but in my opinion it's not the only thing that explains this loss. I must admit that I fear Orlando is just better considering that our team is depleted, and my concern is that they have too many weapons (in their starting five and in their bench) for the Celtics.

Just wondering what are your feelings and thoughts about game 2, which is a must win, and I really hope the Celtics won't trail 2-0 before the end of the day. Maybe I would be more optimistic after having read your thoughts about it, I'm not pessimistic by nature so I'm not sure if I'm being realistic (fatalistic?) or pessimistic here.

Anyway let's go C's, and hope that this thread dejinx them for game 2!

I am 95% confident as of now, but I reserve the right to change that come seven tonight. Yes they were blown out in the first half and the comeback might be given too much credit, but there was a positive that came out of it. They learned that they cant be afraid of howard and they have to go at him and play energy d. If they can play with those two things they will win this series.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Optimistic.

I saw some things there in the late 3rd quarter and entire 4th quarter of Game 1 that give me serious hope. I think they were starting to exploit some of Orlando's weaknesses and I also saw a Celtics teams that suddenly dedicated themselves to defense again.  Celtics bring that the whole game tonight, I think we'll see a positive result.  I also expect Ray to rebound.

If we lose, the season is over.
God bless and good night!

If I am being honest, I thought the Celtics might lose Game 1 after the long, emotional series after the Bulls. I never thought they would be losing by 28 points in a laugher in the 3rd quarter and couldn't fathom them having the comeback they had given just how poorly they were playing.

That all said, the last quarter and a half encouraged me to stick by my prediction of the Celtics 6 games. I look for the Celtics to be coming home from Orlando at 2-2 and taking games 5 and 6. Nothing really has changed for me and I'm pretty sure they win, possibly by double digits tonight.

If Rondo shows up on time, we're good.
No spicy food or showing up 30 minutes before tip off this time, please.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

i feel like they should win..but won't be surprised if the don't. If they do lose though...series over in 4 or 5. it would be a tough way to go out but with no KG and powe...i think this team is playing as hard as they can

It's gonna be hard to watch I really think I can't turn on the TV, for I already fear the worst. I still will back up my team and have confidence they can bounce back to win game 2. I just won't sit to watch them fall once again if they start off lousy again. Sorry, but I can't take anymore sloppy starts like I seen almost all playoffs from them.

If we lose, the season is over.

Have we switched to best-of-three?

  • Rondo = Good
If we win, I'll feel pretty good about where we are, but I won't feel really good until we then go win Game 3 or 4 as well.

How do I think we'll do?  I'm really not sure.  If we had played consistently at all last game we should have won, so it's going to come down to whether we come out there wanting it or not and whether we can play like the Celtics for the whole game.

I feel pretty good about this game...mainly because if they don't win, the series is over.

i feel good as long as; 1) We start Scal 2)Don't try to get DHoward in foul trouble by feeding Perk

Perk is being guarded by the defensive player of the year, and first three plays of the game we go to Perk?  how about exploiting the fact that freaking JJRedick is guarding RAllen?...What a concept!!!!
