Why are you Rooting 4 Rockets

I find myself rooting for the Houston Rockets for a couple a reasons.

1) Hate Hate Hate Celtics wannabees

2) Yao Ming is the best center in the NBA

2) Aaron Brooks is the scoring version of Rondo. They are so much alike. But one is a scorer while the other one is a defender/passer. Aaron can shoot the 3 ball, has a nice crossover, and can finish with BOTH HANDS. 

3) Bynum is a FRAUD

4) "Analyst" being wrong once again. Always love this.

5)  Ron's redemption. For years he was the dark-side of the NBA, rightly so. He finally put all that behind him, and people finally get to see the ball'er side of him.

I agree 100%,T-Mac is overrated and overpaid(imo)...I have always felt they would do better without T-Mac,with Yao being the main go-to-guy on the Rockets.

Shane Battier has a lot to do with it. Only time I ever rooted for Duke. If you could pull the trigger and pull in any one role player in the NBA, I'd bring in Shane Battier.

I'm also an unabashed Tracy McGrady fan, I don't know why, I just am.

EDIT: Well I mean I know why i like Tracy McGrady, when he's on, he's one of the best guys to watch in the NBA. Although, I will say since last years game 1 in the finals, Paul Pierce has officially taken that mantle as "most fun guy to watch play when he's on fire"

T Mac catches a lot of flack, but we don't know about his injuries and how they feel to him. The guy hasn't been able to get it going for consecutive seasons. He does stupid things after suffering the injuries, but he is a legitimate NBA superstar. The rockets haven't been able to all be healthy at the same time. I feel bad for Morey because this was the roster of a contender.

I am rooting for the rockets, but they don't have that guy that will finish the game off. I think the Lakers take them in 6, even though I hate saying that.

First of all, they're playing the Lakers so I obviously want to see L.A.'s season end.

Second of all, god forbid we don't make the Finals, i do not want to be inundated with Kobe/Lebron ESPN-ification coverage for two weeks.

If the Rockets make the finals it will be great for the NBA.  Yao Ming is already a hero in China and winning a title will push his stardom to a new level in China.   This will in turn bring lots of revenue to the NBA,hopefully helping the league through these tough ecomonmic times.  

Also I would love to see Yao crying holding the trophy.

I root for the Rockets because, by the following formula, they are my 2nd favorite NBA team.

Favorite NBA Teams:

1. Boston Celtics
2. Whoever is playing the LA Lakers
3. Portland Trailblazers (b/c I lived in Portland for a while)

Because they are playing the Lakers.  My two favorite teams are the Celtics and any team playing the Lakers.  I hate the Lakers!!!

Two of my favorite players are on the Rockets, Battier and Yao. I'm beginning to like Scola too. Just because I'm a Celtics fan doesn't mean I can't root for other teams too.

Oh, and they're playing the Lakers too.
