"Bird should have walked though those door."   All jokes aside, we really should have signed Bird-Man Chris Anderson. I was all for it at the time, knowing it was a gamble. But Wow.  I had know Idea he could make that type of impact. I feel like with Bird we would crush Orlando In five games.

One thing I will say though, Not bringing back Posey, PJ, and losing Powe and KG to injury. We are treated to two fantastic early round basketball, while most other series are pathetic.

 Go Celts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any have like 70 million big men?

We already had KG, Perk, Baby, Power and Scal. I mean its nice to look back and say that but no one knew we were going to have all these injuries.

D.A.'s biggest screw up was NOT bringin back Posey. The goal is to win Championships NOW. So what if we pay the guy for one TOO many years. It would have been worth it. Only DA has confidence in Tony Allen, not the rest of the team, fans or League.

Well, the choice was Birdman or Paddy O'Blount.  Danny chose wrong.

Birdman was the mistake, nothing else.

Ainge made a boatload of mistakes this summer. If only he'd only made one. Choosing O'Blount was one of them.

Didn't someone post here that Andersen turned down a min contract offer to go back to Denver?

biggest off season mistake = should have traded Rondo b/c he clearly can't make a proper decision and certainly didn't help us get out of the 1st round, Pierce b/c he doesn't play with heart, KG b/c he obviously was going to get hurt and Ray b/c he gets outscored by JJ Reddick - shoulda blown this team up - they'll never do anything right ever again - this is the end of the Celtics franchise... stupid Danny, he couldn't even get us a single championship - oh wait he did

If somebody posted that, I never saw it.  I know the word at the time was that Andersen was very interested in signing here, but that Danny was more impressed by O'Blount's workout (where he was winded after 15 minutes).

Didn't Birdman get thrown out of the NBA for a year because of "cocaine like drugs" or "heroine like drugs" it was something shady if my memory serves right. If it was true then I don't want him in Boston, I ain't rootin for some drug using dirtbag even if he blocks 7 shots.

Danny saw something in O'Blount that no one else saw.

Unfortunately for us, everyone else was right and Ainge was wrong - as he was on signing Miles, leaving the backup 3 wide open, signing Mikki Moore ...

In the short term, I'll settle for Danny and his Brain Doctor figuring out how Rondo has gone from Bob Cousy to Tony Allen in three games.

In the long term, he's got some major work to do this summer.

all 3 were low risk high reward guys (as was Birdman) - he rolled the dice and came up empty, these things happen - he's also rolled the dice and come up with PJ Brown and Sam Cassell and Steph and Eddie House and to some degree James Posey

No, they were low risk, low cost, no upside guys. With the emphasis on low cost. And we're paying the price for that right now.

We'll hear volumes about Garnett's injury impacting this season, and some of that will be true. But Grousbeck and Ainge are culpable as well for a lazy, cheap and totally ineffective summer.

If they don't do better this year, the results will be similar because injuries will happen.

low risk high reward implies sometimes someone surprises you, none of them did no, the high reward means potential, not actual in this case - heck Scal was a low risk high reward guy who's actually paying dividends now...

Throwing away a season to gamble on a cheap bench is not low risk. The only low risk is to Grousbeck's wallet, and that's the only thing that stands to benefit from last summer. It's unintelligent management.

Ainge and Grousbeck will have many opportunities to do better this summer, and not waste another year of the Big Three's window pinching pennies and trying to outsmart the rest of the scouting world.

Their chances of doing the latter are about as good as a Rondo 20-footer.
