I'm a big fan of Van Gundy.  He can coach rings around 'most' coaches.

Tony Allen replaced BBD with 2 min to go in game 6.
Little Fockers 1.5/10
Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10

I love Stan Van Gundy.  He is hilarious (just like his brother).    He is a very good coach too, but really, he just is always good for a quote or two.  He reminds me a bit of Ozzie Guillen.

I think he says this stuff to just get under our skin. he would be a complete idiot if he thinks that Boston legacy is dead.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I always really liked SVG and his sarcastic, self-deprecating sense of humor, but as he's gotten more established as a coach and he gets deeper in the playoffs, he's become less sarcastic and more of a bitter, whiny Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..  I hope he gets a handle on it because a lot of people seem to dislike him these days. Either way I'll hate him for the next 2 weeks and then reassess.

I love JVG on TV, Stan, however, does make his fair share of annoying comments, as for the post game lobbying for fouls, you can count on it 100%.

the NBA is chock full of complainers and whiners.  Its actually really gross.  If it was a rule that you cannot complain period the game would be a lot more fun.  If you get a foul you get a foul just keep playing.  All the lobbying for fouls and complaining really tarnishes the game I would love to see two teams who just play the game rather than all the crying and whining.
The NBA..where "this whole sport is a business and the referees decide games and David Stern is a snake and is only in this for the money" happens.

Hate Stan, love Jeff.  There aren't many guys in the booth calling games with the honesty that Jeff brings.

You just know that some Stan temper tantrums are coming after our wins.  Its hilarious, he has the most physically dominant player in the league and feels the need to constently lobby for him to get special treatment.

See, I have no problem when he behaves like Ozzie Guillen. But he is constantly becoming more of a whiner and a hypocrite. For example, just last week talking crap about Philadelphia's coach because he was lobbying in his press conferences, when Stan does it all the time. Things like that annoy me.

I can't stand his brother either.  For someone who knows so much about the game, he says some really stupid things at times.  I wish CSN was allowed to call the games still.

I CANT STAND to listen to Jeff Van Gundy comment on games.  He does say tons of stupid things, he has a serious man crush on LeBron, and every time he talks about the Celtics it's painfully obvious that he has something against them.  He's always negative about the Celtics.  Always.

Yeah hes NEVER on topic when he calls games, he always gets on the topics of the cavs or the lakers or the magic

He always goes over the top with that stuff, which is why I love him.  And I bet if you asked him in private if he knew he was a huge hypocrite, he would say "of course", while cracking up, because its all a big joke.

I am probably giving him way too much credit, but it just seems like he understands that all of this stuff is just a big joke.  He never seems completely serious when he is talking, and it seems like he is just playing along, and giving the reporters something to work with.

A lot of the topics analysts go over are predetermined going into the game, and not necessarily by them.  Part of this is always discussing the league in general, which means the most popular/successful teams and players will always come up.  Your beef may be with the producers.

JVG was very skeptical of the team early last year, and I don't blame him since we'd gotten a lot of hype but hadn't won anything yet.  Over the course of the year he became very complimentary of our defense and you could tell he respected how we played the game.  He's still kind of a dolt at times but I think he's given us a fair shake.
