post game show, Doc said the gameplans for orlando were put into each player's
car BEFORE game seven started.  Love this move by Doc.  They have the day off tomarrow, but they can start studying.

With our thin bench we don't really have the luxury of taking fouls on Howard.  We're gonna have to focus our strategy on him defensively.

Offensively Lee missing is huge.  We have to attack with whoever JJ Redick is guarding (probably Ray).  Perk has to keep Howard busy and try and draw some fouls.  And Pierce has to take it to Turkoglu, he's had success against him in the past and Hedo is banged up.  Rondo has to avoid punching Rafer in the face and getting suspended.

OK come on, of all people on that team, Reefer Alston would deserve it.

J/K.

I LOL reading this though.

The gameplan at least early on in the series has to be Ray, Ray, and more Ray. The Magic don't have anyone who can give Ray any trouble at all without a healthy Lee, so the Celtics should send Ray around picks all day and trust him to find a mismatch or an open man if he gets doubled or a big switches onto him. I mean, Ben Gordon isn't exactly known for his defense, but at least he could push Ray Allen around and make him go through some pain to get open. I doubt JJ can even do that.

They did that on their own in the Philly series.

One of the only areas in which the Celtics fell off this season was 3PT defense - from first by a country mile to a respectable fifth. I'm less interested in Howard; more interested in seeing the Celtics aggressively close out on Orlando's shooters.

  • Rondo = Good
Force them to take 3s and hope they shoot as badly as they did vs Philly.  Also, somehow get Dwight into foul trouble (impossible, I know) without getting our bigs into foul trouble (another impossibility).
