Doc & Pierce's bromance is getting really old. Its mind boggling that the greatest shooter in NBA history doesn't take the game winning shots. Yet somehow we always find him for the game saving 3pointer. Don't know if its Doc's fault for not putting the ball in Ray's hand or if its Pierce's ego wanting the hero title to himself.

Pierce needs to check his ego @ the door. And Ray Allen needs to find an Ego.

Pierce does what it takes to win the game, can't blame the man because he's used to going iso in order to try and win the game. He's had that style since he's been here since he's been the ENTIRE team for so many years.

I think Ray probably has an ego.  What he's not going to do, though, is cause a scene in a game we're winning.  Doc is the coach, and if he decides Ray shouldn't see the ball, Ray shouldn't cause a problem in the huddle.

That being the case, I wish we'd seen this last night (i.e., the huddle):

The problem is you can't just put the ball in Ray's hand and get a basket because he generally doesn't create his own shot by beating people off the dribble or creating space. People  have been all over Rondo and Pierce for not letting Ray shoot. People complain that we don't get anything going on offense until it's late in the clock. They're often waiting for Ray to try and run through multiple screens and get free for a shot. Rondo hit him almost every time he had the ball and Ray had enough daylight.

If Rondo could give the ball to Ray outside the arc and have Ray run an iso like Paul does that would be great. Especially since he's our best foul shooter as well as our best clutch shooter. But that's not what happens. If Ray doesn't get free then it's on to plan B. Ray went into the lane a few times for those leaners that he takes but he doesn't seem to do that on a regular basis.

I voted yes, by the way, but Ray demanding the ball has to be "give me the ball" and not "hit me if I'm open behind the arc".

I know it sounds crazy, but even in a game when Ray had 50 points, he should have had more.  While I understand Pierce is often clutch, this team is a different beast than most.  Even with Garnett out, this team has 4 players that can take over a game.  If one is that hot, you don't go to Pierce.  The reason that Allen wasn't as hot in OT as he should've been is that Doc went away from him in the second half.  That's insane, especially considering how beat PP is.

I really blame Doc for this loss.  I don't often beat up on him, but if he managed the game differently, they would've won by 10 in regulation.
