Here's a nice piece by Bill Simmons that accurately conveys my feelings about this series. I considered writing something just like this, but now that its been done for me, I wish I could give Bill Simmons a TP.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I agree, it was a good article.  One of the better things he's written in a long time.  The only quibble I have is this:

Quote
This is our NBA Finals. Right here. The Celtics fans feel that way, and so do the Bulls fans. I can promise you.

I don't think all Celtics fans consider this our NBA finals.  I expect us to win this series, and beat Orlando.

Good article. The one thing missing was how Rondo totally didn't attempt to play like the guy who had led us the first 5 games. He seemed scared to take it to the hoop.

I feel like THIS series is a toss up, but if that we make it to the second round we will actually have an easier time with Orlando.

But wow, the Cavs... wow. No KG = no chance.

I dunno why, but his articles always seem to make me feel better.

I think it's because I know how many people read Simmons.  He has buttloads of fans who adore and respect his opinions...  and I like that he conveys my internal Celtic-fan tinted thoughts to the national audience.  When talking to my friends who may be casual NBA fans (or anti-Boston) fans... for whatever reason I can get them to read an excerpt from Simmons a heck of a lot more than I can get them to read a cut-and-paste post from Celticsblog, you know?   I almost always agree with him... there are definitely a lot of people who hate on Simmons, but I happen to love his articles.

Why is this our NBA Finals? THe Celtics will not be awarded a Gold Trophy and neither will the Bulls. It could be the last series I ever watch because I could keel over due to a heart attack. If I saw my doc, he would probably medically advise me to stop watching Celtic playoff basketball.

If anything, I am thoroughly depressed that this is just the 1st round and we are making a very weak defense of our title this Celtic playoff campaign.

I guess my advice to Billy is to turn around and start walking back home from wherever in Los Angelos he and his dog might be so he can watch Game 7 tomorrow night. It ought to be do AND die.

I understand the feeling that this is like our Finals.

There's no way this team is having another series this exciting or close the rest of this year.  Even if we win tomorrow night, our team (which is pretty old) will be really exhausted playing against the Magic.  If we manage to win that series, we'll go against the LeBrons (barring a huge upset by Miami / Atlanta) and we don't have a reasonable chance there.

I want to believe we could give the Magic / Cleveland a hard fought 7 game series, but I'm just not so confident of that.  The Bulls are not that great of a team - even though they are better than a 7 seed and they match up with us very well - and this series is even closer than the Atlanta series last year.
