Man, I really really wish I was right last July...not just to be right, but because this guy is terrible and our coach keeps playing him.

JUST PLAY MARBURY, PLEASE!
God bless and good night!

jeeze... he's been horrible.

Honestly I wonder if those chicago death threats have gotten to his head.  From those thugs related to that trial he was involved with...   I joked that maybe they told him to throw the series intentionally, but seriously I wonder if he's just choking while playing in Chicago.

After this series he might be getting more death threats from Boston fans than those thugs in Chicago.

Anyone wish Tony had gotten the jail time?  ;D I kid, I kid. In actuality, TA shouldn't get that much scorn. He is what he is. Doc was the one who put him in the game instead of Baby. If Doc had put me in the game, I would have sucked too, but I would have gone in.

I do wonder why at this point in the series, with the bench giving us NOTHING, why Doc hasn't even considered putting Bill Walker out there for 5-10 minutes.  I know he is an untested rookie, but he can't be that much worse than the rest of the bench thusfar, can he?  If he holds his own at least he could give Paul or Ray a slight rest.

I'd consider Walker on Ty Thomas or Salmons ( though Salmons is probably too fast for him )
I'd consider Pruitt on Gordon or Rose for spurts

I'd consider any semblance of a rotation that provieds any rest whatsoever for the strating unit. We are playign against a very athletic and aggressive, hard driving young team. We need to use what we have if for nothing than more than to give our starters at least 7-8 minutes rest, at the minumum.

Sometimes, we think well, yeah, but that could cost us the game. Doesn't being dead, flat exhausted against fresher players down the stretch also do that? Cost oyu the game? I think Perkins is fine and baby probably too. But Rondo, with his ankles and certainly Ray and pierce who are the money to bring you home...are gassed, big time.

Ray is putting up 51 on heart, not on legs like springs.

I've never been more disgusted or frustrated with a coach in my life. I will go to my grave wondering what in Gods name Tony Allen has contributed to justify giving him minutes in this series. 1st, Doc should've left Baby in there and forced the Bulls to adjust to US. But if you must go small, why Tony Allen? Why not House? Marbury? Anyone but TA. As many times as Doc says he's playing good D, it simply isn't true. For every good play he makes, he makes 3 bad ones. And there's no chance of him getting hot offensively. At least w/ House or Marbury you have a chance.  >:(

Agreed:

House - pure shooter
Marbury - passes up open shots (which is better than what Tony does)
Tony - takes shots he has no business taking

The last few minutes of a game(close)the coach is suppose to put his team in the best possible position to win,and Doc failed to do that in game 6.(imo)

I have to say though, and those in this thread know im not a TA fan, that in his supposed role of defensive specialist, i thought he played his best defense of the series last night.

His offense was awful, but he also got hung out to dry alot to be fair. Any play that ends with tony with the ball in an iso with 5 seconds left on the shot clock at the top of the key was a horrid play.

As for the tony allen part, guy's game is 100% affected by his confidence and thinking too much.  Eddie for 2 minutes can do great things.  TA for 2 minutes might help you but he can kill you also.  I think if he was part of a normal rotation he'd help against gordon and the bulls.  He is not a guy we can count on for small minutes and to have his head into it.  I don't blame him when he took the shots with little time left on shot clock.  I thought tommy was gonna start coaching last night.  He was correct that we were taking too long to get into offense and the ball movement was stagnant.  A great game but would have been better if we closed it out.

Good post. I agree. I actually think Tony should have been in the game much earlier to provide his slashing to the basket as everybody was just standing around.

LOL...He does suck in alot of ways. he does some good things to though, especially if as someone just said he's more part of the rotation early on. He has to have rhytym and confidence to do his best. He's not a guy, like a Powe who cna just get off the bench and "be there". I think Tony's a guy you either keep him involved in a pattern or just leave him out completley. People can argue all day on which they'd do. With our bench as is, I'd use him early and in pattern for rest purposes.

I think Doc, Paul, Ray and Baby hung Rondo, Perk & Tony out to dry lasy night. These are not the guys you want taking your shots with a nine point lead and 3 minutes to go. You want Pierce, Ray and Baby, your best offensive options at the time. Unless Perkins is close to the basket or Rondo is makeing a drive or some other normal offensive move for him, you don't want to see it. You don't want Rondo doing an ISO ending in a turn around, fade away jump shot. That's for Pierce or Ray. And you definately don't want Perkins shooting 15 foot jump shots. Mind boggingly frustrating.

Sometimes I think Doc just freezes up and is too terrified to sub out people. His rotations or often times lack thereof have driven me nuts since day one.

Overall really like the guy, but the rotations...
