Rondo still averaging a triple double for the series

I think there's a difference between thinking that Rondo acted like a punk in that particular play (which some of us agree with), and Rondo is a punk (which seems to be the direction that non-Celtics fans seem to be taking). The latter I think, really is unreal.

Anybody -- regardless of what team they play for -- who throws another player down, and then starts throwing his elbows around in a confrontation is, to me, acting like a punk.  If Hinrich had done the same thing to Rondo, we'd all be calling for his head.

That's about as big an exageration of the incident as I've heard.  Rondo was in the wrong for throwing Hinrich, no doubt.  But as I said before, this is all about people being p---y that the Celtics lost.  If Hinrich was balanced, it wouldn't have looked nearly as bad.  You're making it sound like he body slamed him.  And I've seen the replay plenty of times and I'm still waiting to see those elbows that he was throwing all over the place.

I don't think Rondo is a cheap shot artist. I do think he will get a dirty reputation from this series.

I don't see Rondo as a punk. He is a jerk though, but so was Bird. Rondo is all business and has a history of being intolerant of teammates and coaches. It seems he has this under control now that he has such accomplished teammates. He's still a jerk though. But we don't need a Mr Congeniality.

  Sure, Rondo has elbows, one on each arm.

  Rondo's a magician on the court, but there's no way his elbow would come anywhere near Hinrich's face. If he wanted to hit him he'd need to throw a punch.

Why is everyone acting like we've already lost the series?  Stay positive!  Everyone was doubtful this time last year with the Hawks too.  The Celtics aren't as deep but are still the better team and they're playing in Boston.

Definitely. What I'm trying to say is, though, that if we lose this series, Rondo's stats would be for nothing. Rondo definitely showed the league what he's made of.

I'm very confident about our chances tomorrow. I've been positive all series.

Wins are nice, but what really matters is Rondo getting 10 rebounds tomorrow. He doesn't need any assists or points, so I would have him just crash the boards on offense. I would also put him in with a Marbury-House-Moore lineup, since that will provide many misses on offense.

It is also important that we minimize turnovers, because you cannot get an offensive rebound when you turn the ball over. Better to take and miss a bad shot, especially long 3s that can lead to long rebounds.

Perk also needs to be careful not to grab any boards when Rondo is in the vicinity. That sometimes costs us a Rondo triple double.

WADR, one person's statistics do not interest me in the slightest.

This is a team game. Teams win and teams lose. Rondo played well in this series until he smacked Brad Miller. His game fell off - markedly - after that.

And to beat Orlando, we have to have the early-series Rondo back. The tentative, mentally questionable play has to stop.
