Good thread.

Crawford, Stafford and Malloy deserve a lot of credit. Was not going to be an easy game to call and they rose to the occasion.

Is it a coincidence that I only recogniae the name of one of the refs on this crew?

I don't think so. There's a reason we learn names.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

i am as tough on refs as anyone, but even i will grant this. miller got away with a few flops. rose made that great block on rondo, rondo had a clear path to the ball, heinrich tosseed him, should have been a foul. other than that, no real problems with the refs tonight.

the one call that infuriated me was perk's 6th foul, on a miller flop - i don't think perk even touched him. taking perk out of the game had a huge impact. also, miller moved on every screen, but didn't get called for it often. but we got away with a few hits as well. all in all, maybe the best refereed playoff game i've seen in a long time. just wish they called the miller flop correctly - with perk in the middle, i think we would have won this thing.

I saw two pretty bad calls in the 4th/OTs, one that went against both teams.

1.  Paul Pierce got away with a very obvious travel (spin move, shuffle, slide).  This lead to a made hoop + 1FT.
2.  John Salmons also got away with a travel, though not as obvious.  This was one of the calls where the refs get to determine when the dribble was picked up.

TP for the thread.

I agree that the refs were great.  Not that they read forums like this, but I feel that if we criticize them for the bad games we should credit them for the good ones.

As mentioned earlier, there were a few calls/no calls that helped each team throughout the 63 minutes of basketball, but it evened out.  The only thing I was upset about was that Miller lasted a good 20 minutes or so with 5 fouls while still playing in his usual dirty style.  But I think that is more my hatred of him than anything the refs did.

Good call. I frequently point out the horrible officiating in the NBA. Aside from Game 5, I think this entire series has been pretty well officiated, especially last night. Hope we see more of the same tomorrow night.

True. Some questionable calls, but no apparent bias.
And Miller is reminding me more and more of Laimbeer- a dirty, sneaky, flopping  crybaby, but also very good.

TP.... Well said.  I can't stand Miller.  He is so dirty and whiny.   I really, really don't like him.

Last nights officating crew....

Was excellent. Got ya a bit there didn't I?  :)

Just wanted to say, as a decrier of the quality of NBA officating, that I thought last night crawford's crew (and i am not a joey fan) did an excellent job. Sure, they missed a few call, both ways, btu overall i thought they did an excellent job keeping what could have become a sloppy, "eye for an eye" game under control and let the players play for the most part, within reason.

They used replay really well, and i thought the handled the situation with rondo and kirk right on the money.

Good job NBA refs, here's hoping we get another competent crew saterday for this awesome series.  8)

Absolutely agree.  Crawford and co kept the game under control, called it consistently tight early and loosened up gradually as the game went on.  One of the best officiated games I've seen in awhile.

is crawford the bald nazi looking ref? lol

i agree he seems fair and a pretty good when he's in the house, cant say the same for kennedy

LOL in my opinion a LOT of calls went our way (for once) especially in the first half.

Sure, the officials are "transparent" when the other team is in foul trouble :D   love it
God bless and good night!
