Hats off to the officiating crew tonight.  The officials were transparent.  They kept the game in check early and allowed the players to decide the game down the stretch.  Not easy at all in a chippy series like this one.  There really wasn't one foul late in the game that I didn't agree with.  The free throw and foul disparity was almost even as well.  You couldn't have really asked for a better-called game than tonight's.

Yeah, I have to agree.  There weren't any "huh!?" calls, though I'm not ready to say all of the calls were good ones.  But really it was just the two teams duking it out there tonight.  Unfortunately the other team won.

Yes, they did an excellent job. You can't hate on them.

Absolutely agree.  Crawford and co kept the game under control, called it consistently tight early and loosened up gradually as the game went on.  One of the best officiated games I've seen in awhile.

Yeah, the officials didn't let themselves become the story.

However, imagine if the Celts had somehow pulled that game off?  Bulls fans would be forever complaining about the missed goal-tending by Rondo on Hinrich's blown layup.

The losers will always find something to complain about.

The refs did a great job--there were missed calls but they totally evened out--I think that's what made this game so great--it was two gritty teams duking it out without any outside influence to speak of really. That's the kind of basketball I want to see on a regular basis (except with the C's winning).
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I agree.

I didn't even know the refs were there.

Yeah, I'm sure they would have Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed about this, but it's not a missed call.  I looked at it from 5 different angles on both CSN and TNT and it was still inconclusive.  And you have to remember that real life doesn't happen in slow motion.  Good no-call.

Hey, ManUp, can you please notice that I give the refs their due when they deserve it and I'm not just some homer nut job who illogically blames things on the refs? Thanks!

Did you hear them talking about it during the game?

Tommy: I think Rondo got a piece of that shot!

Mike: If he did, it hit the backboard first so let's not dwell on this.

I agree. If every game would be officiated like this, the conspiracy theories would extinct in no time.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Good thread.

Crawford, Stafford and Malloy deserve a lot of credit. Was not going to be an easy game to call and they rose to the occasion.
