Talk about stepping up!

There have been many fans who have described Perk as a back-up center or that he only plays well because he plays next to KG. I think that Perk has laid those arguments to rest.

What are the odds that Perk could play 48 min in a game and not commit one foul? I think it is mind boggling considering that foul trouble has been a problem of his.

In my opinion Perk is the key to winning. With virtually no bigs to help him at the center position, it is up to Perk to stay out of foul trouble and basically play the whole game. He did just that and some!

Keep it up Perk! Let the others get the press clippings - you just keep on doing your job and we will be just fine.

And people only said that Rondo was good because he had the Big Three.  Once Garnett went out, Rondo really stepped it up.  Once Allen fouled out in game 5, Rondo REALLY stepped it up.  If anything, Rondo and Perk are held back stat-wise by being on a star-heavy team.

Of course their development had/has a lot to do with the Big Three and their championship experience, but by no means are they overrated because of who they play with.

That was an amazing game by Perk.  I will say that the "zero foul" thing has as much to do with the officials swallowing their whistles as it does with Perk avoiding extra contact; I noticed a couple plays inside where he was pretty physical with Noah.  However, guys should adjust their games to how the officials are calling it, and Perk excelled there.

Perk is one of the best bargains in the NBA.  Is there another big man playing on a non-rookie deal who has as reasonable a salary as Perk?  We still have him for another two years at roughly $4.3 million per season after this one.  I think after that deal, he's going to cash in.

Perk's contract was ridiculously cheap for a legit big man even when he signed it, and he's continued to get a little better each year.  If he plays next season at anywhere close to the level he's played in this series, you've got to think about him for the All-Star game; I mean, even this year he seemed to be maybe the third-best center in the conference, what center out there in the East other that Dwight Howard is really any better?
