  • Rondo = Good
Please, Marbury hasn't been that bad.  I say keep Marbury in over TA or House except when House and Marbury are on the floor together.  House is obviously better at big 3s than Marbury, but Marbury is a much better passer, handler etc. and he plays better defense.

Pruitt needs to develop during the offseason / next year.

Shouldn't Doc entertain this idea?. At the very least, it will send a strong message to Marbury, House, and TA (step up or lose your spot). Take a page from Phil Jackson with the way he handled the Farmar situation. He didn't produce so he replaced him. I know Gabe hasn't done much this season. But if he plays his natural position (SG) along side Rondo he can succeed. He can shoot & is a decent defender.

I just don't see the reasoning of repeating a failed formula. Shake things up, and if it doesn't work we can always return to the other losers.
I don't think we're trying to tank this yr. That was '07 :P

Anyone change their mind of this idea?

Obviously the house, marbury, and TA lineup is working out

I actually would have used Pruitt in this series as backup pg for 5-10 minutes (depending on how he did) for DEFENSIVE purposes on rose.  Give Rondo a breather so 4th quarter he can play the whole time and be rested.  Pruitt might have his faults , be young etc etc.  But he is the 2nd best defending pg on the team.
Eddies a shooter but as doc (or tommy?) stated he doesn't match up well in this series cuz he is not fast enough to defend.

I think at this point we need our TEAM and fans to come up with a game 7 win.  Doc isn't going to change the rotation, giving the guys a bit of a break now won't work.  Earlier in the series it would have made sense.

you might have gotten me if you said Walker, but Pruitt has not showed me much. He seems pretty tentative in regular season games. I can't imagine him stepping up big in the playoff. I really would not mind giving Walker a few minutes if need be. I think he's pretty strong and could maybe bang Salmons or Gordon around a little.

Half the problem is we're losing games becasue we're exhausted. Doc's driving these guys into the ground. I like your idea about mixing it up like Phil Jackson did alot. It's becasue Phil has very little fear a coach. He has no problem trying "anything" that might possibly work or shock the stagnant play.

So to me playing guys who have sat and not produced or sticking with guys who have played and not produced or simply playing 6 guys into the ground and losing cuase your toast is all 1/2 dozen or six of another to me.

Whatever I did, I'd try to do it early and whoever I used the primary goal would be to get each starter ( esp. Rondo with his ankles, Ray and Paul; Baby and Perk are younger) at least 10 minutes rest heading into the fourth.

Pruitt proved very little this season. But one thing he did prove is that he plays some pretty sticky defense. He has some length and even played some pretty good D on Deron Willaims among others. He moves his feet. Tell him to deny whoever he's got and on offense just make the safe pass and move with purpose on the sets, don't try anything special.

Ultimately as others have mentioned though, you'd rather Marbury or Eddie...but if they're doing jack....what have you got to lose? maybe you gain.

If the games weren't so tight (or long), or the bench had shown anything close to an acceptable level of competence Doc might have had "drive these guys into the ground".
Yup
