Dwight Howard Suspended for Game 6

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has been suspended for one game without pay for Tuesday's first-quarter elbow to the head of Philadelphia 76ers center Samuel Dalembert.

The NBA announced the suspension Wednesday afternoon.

The league announcement stated that Howard will serve his suspension Thursday night in Game 6 at Philadelphia. The Magic lead the series three games to two after their 91-78 win.

That was the right call.  This means that the Rondo discipline should be announced shortly.  I'm predicting an upgrade to Flagrant 1 and a fine, but no suspension.

I do agree with the decision, but if he had been tossed in game 5 and 6ers won, they would be playing at home for the series...

Yup, this should've been a gimme, but you never know for sure with the NBA til it's announced.

Now to hold my breath til the Rondo decision is announced.  If he can play Game 6 and we close out the series, there's a good chance we get a couple extra days rest while Orlando sweats out a Game 7.  That's great news with our guys playing the minutes that they are.

i think the league suspends rondo also...it seems they have it out for boston....if they do it is a horrid example of bias....if anyone should have ben suspended it it miller after hitting baby

I don't see Rondo getting anything more than a fine if his foul is upgraded to a flagrant. It didn't look like an ejection worthy foul.

Rondo needs to grab the shoulder next time. Not cool smacking people in mouth.

I almost, almost, almost want Rajon to be suspended for his own protection.  The last thing I want to see is him flattened on to the floor of the United Center because some Bull decided to take revenge.  Maybe if he's suspended they'll let go of it.  Then again, if he's out, we're TOTALLY HOPELESS.

Howard deserved the suspension and the NBA was right to suspend him. However, like you, I'm worried about Rondo, I'm expecting a non deserved suspension to go along with Howard's... my hope is that it hasn't been announced at the same time so maybe he won't be suspended.

i asked this in another thread, why do people give a league that had a ref fixing playoff games 2 years ago the benifit of the doubt and act like people who ask about corruption are loons?

What has the NBA done to earn this free pass since the timmy incident?
