Watching the Nuggets-Hornets game on NBATV I dont know what is more shocking the 20 pt lead in the 1st quarter or how fat and out of shape Posey looks.

He's not quite in the scalabrine, Donneyl Marshall category but looks nothing like he did with the C's

Good decision Danny not resigning this guy. We don't know if the KG pressure would mean he was still at the top of his game, but that weight is gonna become an issue the older he gets.

remember, he's a 30 something bench guy who joined the C's last year with the specific purpose of parlaying a "winning role player on a championship team" label into as much money as possible for his last NBA contract. THen he got said contract. No surprises there that he's let himself go a bit.

Even if he came back looking like Bron Bron, Danny made the right move not signing Posey.    He's already not worth the first year salary of his contract.

We helped build his resume, but let the knucklehead GMs sign him to big coin.

Yeah weren't there reports that 3 quarters of the way through the season, New Orleans were already starting to openly admit they made a mistake signing Posey to that big deal?

Cause they're stuck with him, and they want him to have a MUCH more bigger role than what he's capable of.  He fit perfectly with our team last year because he was sorta that last piece to a championship team.

He doesn't look like he got fat, imo.  Looks the same to me.

Stupid Hornets. Gave him too many years and hurt both teams in the process.

When was Posey ever in great shape?

Denver still has a chance to win by 60.

I have to admit that "fat" is at least more unique than the specious claims that Posey couldn't play any defense, didn't shoot the ball well, etc., that have become familiar on this board.

Probably.

I wish that skillset was available to Doc every night - whether it be Posey or a player of similar skills. We haven't gotten close to replacing those skills.

Posey is reminding me of Tim Thomas in his year with Phoenix. He goes out, busts out for that big year before the free agent summer, then banks on a contract and doesn't completely live up to the dollar signs. Have you noticed Tim Thomas back in Chicago, and i remember reading this to be another chance for him there, not just a salary trade, but he hasn't played a minute this series that i've seen
Can't stop, Rondo!

I'm not going to insult Posey, but I'd rather have Dontae Jones' contract than Posey's.

As I've said many times before, I've never been locked into having Posey on this roster.

What I'm locked into is a backup on the bench with some degree of versatility - the ability to shoot the basketball, enough size to defend on the perimeter and dip inside on occasion, play with some physicality, play intelligently (a particular issue on this club off the bench), play with consistent effort.

Some of those qualities are flatly absent on this bench, in addition to poor approximations of the others.

When you subtract all those qualities and fail to replace a bunch of them, it's quite the risk - especially on a club where injuries are in play.
