Fans from both side have been saying that paul pierce is disinterested in this playoff, or that he thinks Cs have no shot of winning a championship and so he has given up.

Seriously?

I expect more from you, celtics fans!!! How many years have we seen #34 carry this team? How many times have we seen him tried to do everything to win the game? Of all the people, you shouldn't be the ones questioning his desire!

Why do you think he is disinterested? because he didn't scream at the bulls players? going nuts like mo william on every shot-made? throwing gataorade on his teammates after every win?

please...

he is playing poorly, getting his ball stripped and shots blocked... but i can assure he cares...

on tuesday, he will come out and do everything he can to help Cs win!

Ridiculous accusation.  Nobody cares more about winning than PP.

If anything I think he's extremely frustrated that he isn't getting any calls.  He has taken fewer fta per fga then any starter or either team.  Even the national announcers in these games have been amazed at the lack of calls.
One of them said during yesterdays game that he should just keep going to the hole and the calls would come, but they never did.

When the whistles are blowing for other people and not you, that's bound to become frustrating, particularly when that's a big part of your game.  Doc sees what's hsppening and it's very disheartening that he hasn't being more vocal and standing up for his star.

Yeah, its a rediculous accusation

I think Pierce has looked absolutely exhausted out there, and I think I might buy into theories that his will to fight through the fatigue disapeared a bit, when he found out KG was out for the playoffs.  However, if that is the case, I think it would all be completely subconscious.

Paul Pierce is one of the most competitive athletes I have ever seen.  I think there is legitimate concern of whether he has enough left in the tank this year to turn it on for more than a game at a time, but I would never question his heart.

Very disappointed we lost, very disappointed in the way I played.

He is going to be harder on himself than anyone of us! Have faith in pierce that he will do all he can to pull us out of this hole!

As far as foul calls, it's hard for me to comment on whether or not he is getting fair shake. I know the stats suggest he is not getting his normal FTA per game. But at the end of the day, he needs to protect the basketball better and he needs to get more open. I think he knows that better than anyone else!

P.S. Not trying to be snarky, but it's Monday morning, and I've yet to have my second cup. Just pointing out something that I believe most people don't know. Or perhaps they are simply uninterested?
