Where is Starbury in the second half of game 4?

Someone said that Marbury played well in the first half.  I'm not sure how that's at all possible.  This guy is a complete and total liability.  If the Celts ever win, it's totally in spite of this guy.  The Celts were up 5, (19-14) when he checked into the game with 2 minutes left in the 1st quarter.  By the time he left the game, (with 3 minutes gone in the second), the Celts were down 7. 

Key to winning for the Celts is the bench holding serve once the starters go out - if they do (like they did in game 3) it's a blowout.  Unfortunately Marbury is a shell of his former self and whenever he's on the floor the Bulls happen to go on a run.  Such is life when there is no real backup point guard.

Someone hasn't been watching the games.

yea i normally hate the "you don't watch the games" critique, but i don't see how you can hold this view of marbury's play after watching the games so far this series and have a firm grip of reality.

Eddie House is getting too many playoff minutes. He was getting abused by Rose out there on defense. Eddie House is a one dimensional player and he has been pretty uselss for these playoffs. Rose's eyes would light up any time Eddie had him 1v1 and he took advantage of this. Doc doesn't want to screw with chemistry, but Steph needs to get all of Eddie's minutes.

Why, because of his rep? who cares as long as he plays the good solider while here, which he has.

He provided good minutes in games 1-3 on gordon, and was a huge part of the bench extending the lead in game 3. He's fine with me.

Your hatred of Marbury is so lame at this point. We know you think he is a thug and dumb and any other negative thing you can think of. So since you didn't see game 4 I guess you didn't see Rose and Gordon consistently abusing Eddie House off the dribble. Marbury has shown he can play solid D and stay in front of these quicker guards that House can't. Plus we could have used his playmiking and driving ability to get other players open shots instead of throwing the ball to PP at the top of the key and praying he can go hit every 18 ft jumper he takes . You make yourself sound foolish with such hatred for Marbury, especially when you didn't even see the game .

He hasnt been the disatster many have said he would be. He hasn't showed the slightest spec of disruption in the locker room. i hoope he stays next year(I know it wont happen). His play has not been there, but his presence has not been a distraction which was why some people didn't want him here. He''s not washed up, at some point he will be contributing more than he has so far.

can you go ahead and link me the back up PG who averages more than 5 assists in 15-18 minutes that you think is also not playing well?

yes, I'd like him to score 10 instead of 6 on a consistent basis with those minutes, but i laugh out loud at people who don't see how well he's running that second unit because they get caught up in the fact that he's not scoring 25 points a game in 15 minutes.

we've done this before, but it doesn't seem to get through.

5 assists, 5 points, and moving the ball around ( a very typical line for steph in 15 minutes) is better than

12 points, 0 to 1 assist, team killing iso play that some seem to want out of him and that he was famous for in NYC.

He's been a very good backup PG, which is what everyone said they wanted him to do when he got here.

Marbury is okay in the minutes he has gotten.  What stinks is that Eddie has been very ineffective in the close games in this series.  The Bulls are not setting him free to fire away (Rose's block of his 3 for example).

Marbury is the better matchup for us to us in this series due to the Bulls horrible inability to stay in front of slashers.  Rondo and Marbury have hurt them there.  Ray is being effective only when on the move and we've adjusted to that.  House is best catching and shooting and they just aren't allowing that to happen.

I don't think Marbury is a thug and frankly, I wouldn't care if he were.  He just can't play any more.  He goes into the game, and the other team starts to roll.  He can't shoot, he overdribbles and he doesn't get back on defense.
