Trade Pierce? Who would want him? He is terrible.  ::)

Also, I should have added a disclaimer. I really like Pierce, but I like the Celtics winning more. I was just voicing, a slightly overreacted albeit, opinion about what I thought could make things better, or at least help.

SG: Dwyane Wade / Gerald Henderson / Christian Eyenga
SF:  Grant Hill / Paul George / Earl Clark

we blew this game (doc not calling for a foul, pierce missing the FT, baby missing layups), but we still would have won had we gotten a few more calls. the officiating today was pretty atrocious. pierce got hammered plenty. i'm okay with not calling those if you don't call them the other way, but that was not what happened. we better get some decent officiating in boston for game 5, or else i'm worried we're done.

I couldn't agree with you more about the officiating. Horrid.

Last year people were saying Ray Allen was done. Now it's Paul. These threads are a waste of time. The real truth of the matter is that the Bulls have been double and triple teaming Pierce since before he walked into the arena for game 1. That is why everyone else has been able to get open looks.

He is out of rhythm and hasn't gotten his legs under him yet after a long regular season and a very demanding and physical first round. He's still a soldier and puts up numbers and leadership without complaining. If there is any concern, it's that he still gets nervous taking late game free throws.

We are still in the driver's seat. Everyone settle down.

The original post isn't even worth responding to beyond a simple "no".

By the end of OT 1, it was obvious the game could have easily went either way. Making an over-tired and frustrated PP the scapegoat is silly.

I agree with Ed Teach, Pierce may be tired and he should be. Ainge decided to not get him a legit back up in the off season. Who does that?

Welcome to the board and here's your first TP for injecting a little common sense into the game discussion.

Pierce didn't have a good game. I've pointed out in other threads some of the flaws in his game.

But the claims on here that he's lazy and disinterested are totally out of line.

And a TP for Scooby, as well, for the reminder that Ainge decided twice - in the summer and at the deadline - that we didn't need a competent three man on the bench.

He could really use some rest, and maybe some more weight loss in the off season. He has quite a bit of responsibility on both ends of the floor this year and it has been a looooong season. Paul can ball all day. I mean he did hit some big shots in the OT's. He is just missing the spring in his step that some good rest will provide. Unfortunately, there is no rest in sight.

talk of moving Ray Allen at the end of the season. He is the best player on this team behind Rondo and on his best days ahead of KG, though he'll never be as defensively good as KG. Paul Pierce is not who he was. He is washed up and it pains me to say it because I've been a Celtics fan since I knew what a basketball was. How about we move him at the end of the season and pick up Grant Hill and move up in the second or late first round and draft Tyler Smith and have him groomed as the heir to the throne of the SF forward position in Boston. Not Ray Allen, he should not, under any circumstance be moved at the end of the season. </rant>
As bad as Pierce has been this series, it could just be a bad matchup.

Gotta love a suggestion to get a high first round pick to replace a Hall of Fame caliber player.

Trade PP, no way....he carried us a lot this season...he has played too much this year, he never rested 1 game...trade Ray, you have to be kidding, another work horse, what about Perks foolish fouls...ALWAYS the same ones, HIGH  PICKS, this time it was a trip late in the game, why can't he figure this out and stop[ it, he looked like a lineman out there way worse than a moving pick, Scal could have ran a little harder and got in front of that hinrichs.....just get in front of him, he was right with him and gave up instead of turning it on, a very crucial point there....

What I'm really tired of is the forcing of the Pierce isolation at the top of the key in crutch time, especially when Paul is having a bad game. Is this supposed to be our bread n butter cause it seems like every team in the league knows how to defend this play.  ???
