Sorry, but I just have to do this. If the guy is definitely not going to play, then why is he not having surgery ASAP to make sure he is ready to go next year? It appears that Leon is going to have surgery pretty quickly? I honestly do not get what is going on with KG.

Yeah, the speed with which Powe's season was pronounced dead just underlines the cloud of confusion surrounding KG's injury.

Because they figure that if he waits for surgery, he would still be ready by the start of the season, and as long as there a chance he could play, even if very little, then why not wait?

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
The situation with KG is a lot different than the one with Powe.  Powe has a torn ACL; that means his season is over, no matter what; there's no chance of a recovery.  Supposedly, KG has a tendon strain, and the treatment for that has been to rest it and allow it to heal naturally.  The surgery that KG is going to get is (from what the team tells us) not the source of his injury.  I'm a bit skeptical, but at least the wait-and-see approach makes sense when there's a chance KG could come back.

But yet Doc has said he is out for the playoffs. And how long has KG been out with his "strin," about two months except for the brief appearance he made in 4 games. And, despite being out two months, he still can only run at about 70 percent. This is what I do not get. It appears that in two months he is still not close to full recovery, yet it the Celtics are expecting some sort of miracle. The season is over, they are not repeating, have the surgery, KG.

Yeah, there's really no reason to do it now.  Whether we wait or not, KG still should be ready to play come next season.  And by the way, I can't really understand how he can't get out on the court for at least a few minuts a game.  While, he didn't look great, he looked okay for a few minutes a game when he did come back.  And as long as he didn't re-injure it, which I think is true, shouldn't it be better by now...at least a little bit?

And please Doc, you've said on numerous occasions that Doc is only a nickname.  I really wish he'd just shut up about KG's status.  Before this, he was saying KG would be back so Doc obviously has no clue what he is saying.

KG's injury supposedly  ::) is spurs affecting a tendon.  If we can somehow make the ecf maybe he is hoping he could play then.
At least in my world of green that is the case, he'd hobble onto the floor ala willis reed and help us to finals.

well theyve actually said kg's injury has been 5 different things first it was a knee strain, then a bone spur, then a torn ligament, a torn tendon, and very many others

the problem is the "supposedly" part....

I was watching Jackie MacMullan in the pre-game and she still believes we aren't getting the straight scoop on KGs injury.

part of me feels like the surgery might have an exploratory component to it because maybe the DRs don't even really know what is going on with his knee.

that seems logical and i just wish they would say that.

I still worry about cartilage pieces or tears, but maybe it is still just the strained tendon and there is still a chance that KG comes back down the line...

How freaking awesome would that be? I'm sure KG caught the fire with the win last night. He looked like he was gonna bust out of that suit he was wearing...

wouldn't that just be the best theater ever if we made it to the ECFs and KG came back then?

Doc is saying conflicting things. He won't play one day and the next day he is asking him to hold off on his surgery? Doc is obviously holding out hope that he will be back.

I was too far away to see, but did anyone notice a limp?

He looked ok when he was shaking his junk with two hands after Ray hit that last 3.

I read this same thing. Basically they are saying that this type of injury only gets better with time. I believe they said Jermaine O'Neil has this same thing and he just took some time off. But O'Neil looks about 60%.

I think they're holding back some info or maybe when he does get the bone spur surgery they will know more. The thing is, if you can't get surgery on this and time doesn't heal this, KG playing days might be over. I hope I'm wrong.
