Please change his nickname, he is the most overrated player in the history of the World. Every team he played for is now better off without him. It has came this far that the Pistons are sayin' that he is injured.
I don't believe I'm overreacting and I'm not a hater, but the guy is simply a virus. I can't understand when someone says that they love his game and that they admire him. He wouldn't win a championship if he were a part of the Celtics/Cavs/Lakers today.

then hes a hall of fame cancer....i completely disagree..besides this detroit disaster, all of Iversons former teammates love him, its the media that doesnt & therefore jump at the chance to make him look bad. thats not to say he hasnt done things on his own but he definately isnt a cancer.

I agree with the OP- but I understand your issue with calling him a cancer. Maybe his teammates love him or maybe they don't, but on the court, he's a detriment to winning. Is detriment a better word?
And hall of famer?--- he probably will be because once you get the reputation as a hall of famer, it just gets mindlessly repeated whether it's justified or not. He is incredibly talented though.

Yeah I just completely disagree. A) its hard to mesh with any team mid-season, B) Its hard to lead a team when they traded the spiritual as well as actual leader of the team for you (Billups), C) Its hard to lead a team that obviously pretty much quit before you got there (Detroit never looked like they wanted it to me), and D) Its hard to play on a team that never wanted to win AND already had their fixtures at the 1 and the 2 in STuckey and Hamilton

No doubt Iverson has tarnished his legacy a little bit, but he's one of the most exciting players to play the game. There wasn't a more fun player to watch than 2000-2001 Iverson

Can he ever be a MVP again? No...but that doesn't mean he never was.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

thats a hall of fame resume..u cant just get a hall of fame reputation w/o being worthy, all hes missing is a championship. love him or hate him, u cant deny hes one of the greatest to play & if u do--look at his stats. some players would love to have the numbers he put up this season, which r career lows for him and may b career highs for some.

You most certainly can be overated with a "hall of fame" rep.

Iverson will be in the hall of fame. But he was never as good as he was hyped to be. Maybe never as good as he should of been.

Any player who dominates the ball like Iverson does is limited in what he will be able to achieve in the end, it is a team game. It worries me about Chris Paul, he plays too much like Iverson. But I believe he'll adjust once he gets a teammate other than David West who can actually run a play....

Denver was better with Andre Miller, and Detroit was better with Billups, and Sixers and Denver are better without him and so were the Pistons. He loves his game not the game of basketball. He is one of those players that loves to say "I did everything in my power to win but we lost". You have to understand that if your best scorer is 6 feet tall it effects the whole team wheater you like it or not.

He is definitely a detriment to winning.  Look at his entire career, not just this season.  If your top scorer shoots 42% from the field, you are going to be a bad team, period.  Add the fact that AI plays no defense and it's no surprise that his teams are always bad. And they always improve immediately when he gets traded.

How was this man a detriment to winning?  Before he got to Philly they were absolutely brutal.  They were a complete after thought, building a team around Jerry Stackhouse of all people.  He single handedly brought the 6ers back to relevance.

Nobody in the whole league tried harder than he did.  He carried that brutal franchise on his back.  Look at the absolutely horrendous team he took to the finals...just look at the roster.  Without Iverson on that team, they would be hard pressed to win 25 games, let alone go to the finals.  Their 2nd leading scorer was THEO RATLIFF...

I feel that Iverson season was of the most impressive displays of heart and toughness we have ever seen in this league.  its completely foolish to believe this man doesnt care about winning.  its absolutely ludicrous.

Iverson is a hall of famer, deserves to be a hall of famer, and until medical evidence comes out, who are we to decide if somebodys faking an injury?  nothing in his past even comes close to suggesting he hasnt done everything in his power to be on the court.  People are giving Iverson crap for complaining for coming off the bench, but seriously, Rip Hamilton was complaining even worse, and hes not even close to Iverson as a player, currently or historically...Iverson had an incredible statistical year last year. He's not done by any stretch.

I'm not sure the Pistons are better off without Iverson. I think AI would be a big help against Cleveland right now.
