Ray Allen and Eddie House shot a combined 3 for 20, and Derrick Rose did not miss a free throw. Both are statistical outliers and will not happen again, so lets not overreact.

What I would like to point out is that Ray was tired. Chasing Gordon around all game [dang] near wore him ragged. I would love to see the C's go small a little bit on Monday with a Rondo-House-Allen-Pierce Perkins lineup. House is big enough to stay with Gordon and Pierce can hold Thomas no problem. On the other side of the ball, it gets Pierce away from Salmons (who always slows him down).
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi

my adjustment would be to actually show up and play like you aren't entitled to win...

We need to counter this team by driving and forcing the Defense to collapse. Rondo, Steph and Tony should be driving at Noah becuase when he gets frustrated he makes stupid fouls. With Noah in foul trouble they will lose one of their best rebounders, and this can help us on the offensive boards (or their defensive boards) and allow us second chance shots/ slow down their transition game.

Throughout the game we also need to feed the beast. Kendrick Perkins gave us a good offensive effort and how do we reward him? we stop giving him the ball. Noah cannot handle KP on the low block.

The Bulls are a pick&roll team and almost their entire offense is run through it. Our success is based on not allowing Rose to come off that corner.

And finally we have to have 5 players out there as a team, not 5 guys saying that they're going to single handedly make up for KG's absence. On Pierce's first play of the game he ran down the floor and pulled up for a quick Jumper (i'd have no problem with this if it was his game, but it looked nothing like a PP jump shot, he was just rushing and running wild)

I think the adjustments suggested by the OP sound more like excuses. Ray was tired because he was chasing Ben Gordon? Come on, that is weak. As for Rose, he has not missed a free throw against the Celtics this season. Something like 27 for 27. As for Pierce vs Salmons, Pierce should take that guy to school. And why the hell was Pierce getting the ball at about mid-court when Heinrich was guarding him? Not only were the players bad today, but the strategy was also bad. And the lack of effort on defense has to change or we can kiss this series goodbye.

TP. I always like to read your commentary. Seem to be on point yet again.

They do have good shot blockers, but very young ones. A fake or twice should be enough to draw a foul or get a wide up layup. At the very least, drive to the hoop then either pass the ball or draw contact. And you are right Noah isn't the brightest guy on the court, Perk should eat him for lunch.
