Pierce and Ray allen tonight without kg's cokkyness, leadership, skills and especially influence looked like scared cats. Indecisive in what they wanted to do, scared to miss or make a mistake.

Celtics without kg are trying to play too perfect. Guys like Marbury are trying so hard to play within the celts system that they can't show us their real skills. I actually want marbury to just jack up a few shots to get him started

Just like against the hawks last year the celts don't have the athletism(nor height) to match against the bulls.

I'm not sure about you but unless kg comesback by some miracle healthy i'm just going to enjoy us "trying" and it would be naive to expect title 2 even if we pass the bulls.

KG going back into the locker room at halftime makes no sense either.  We traded 5 guys for this guy, worked last year and it was worth it but c'mon this year we have to get something going

We actually played better with him in the locker room. This shows his unselfishness, he knew he was a distraction especially with ESPN all over his butt. The team re-focused at the half but wasn't enough.

That has nothing to do with it, we played better in the 3rd because as the game goes on we always play better, we always start off slow, we are playing horrible on early afternoon games, KG should have stayed out there, makes no sense.

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
"Fire", "heart", "leadership" and all that jazz are overrated. The problem of this team isn't the lack of intangibles. Without KG the C's don't have the best defensive big in the game and an extraordinary player who changes games by himself and make everyone around him better with his game on the floor: his defence, his rebounding, his passing, his shooting, etc. That's what the team mostly misses without KG, not his fire.

they got plenty of fire they just aren't good enough.  What do you expect when you lose your best player and savior.

We are missing a few "above the rim" type players. Bulls have thomas, noah, even brad miller is a legit 7 footer vs perk who is actually 6'9 and can't jump, bbd and powe who are like 6'6

The lack of effort from this group without Garnett in the floor isn't new.

But it's shocking, to say the least.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

It's the playoffs. Some of the Celtics forgot to step it up a notch, which is unacceptable. I thought our defense was pitiful. Especially Rondo's defense (reaching too much, not staying in front of Rose) and all the rest of the C's not helping at the rim. One hard foul by Powe and a few contested shots by Perk, but really that was about it. Our defense sucked. Still could of won if Pierce hits the FT or Ray provided anything, but we won't get far in the playoffs unless players step up on defense. That needs to start with Rondo.

Have BBD come off the bench and start Powe. You'll actually get rebounding.... BBD is NOT a 40 minute starter for ANY playoff series.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

Problem is our offense works better with a big man on the floor who can hit a jumper. Powe can't. The other option is Moore and imo if Moore is playing anything more than 5 mins a game in the playoffs you aren't advancing anywhere. Baby just needs to provide more. KG on the bench in his ear, making him cry or putting fear in him might help.

Davis is a weak rebounder and can't finish as well in traffic. Del Nigro wanted BBD taking those jump shots because he knows he can't hit them like KG. When BBD went down and Leon started he was getting 20/10 like it was a joke, and no1 can say he's bad against taller defenders because he 20/10'd Cleveland's front court in Boston. What Baby gave today, he can't give more of, that is the problem. He hit a few of his jump shots, and he got to the free throw line a bit, that's his usual game when he starts. We keep using this line up Celts are going to be playing golf this summer very early.

If you don't have the fire to get up for the first playoff game at home when one of your stars is out, then you don't deserve to win. No one out there should need any motivation to get them to play hard. KG doesn't pass out heart to guys once he steps on the floor. They looked like a bunch of guys who thought they could coast to victory against a team who shouldn't have the audacity to show up. They should all be fined a games pay since they sure didn't earn that one.

Good points. And truth be told, we need both.
