When Ray and KG came to the Celtics last year, people talked about a three year championship window.  I think the plan for year one was to get everyone used to eachother and then compete for the championship in years 2 and 3.  Fortunately (and awesomely) they won in their first year together and it was great.

Now, however, with all of the injuries this year (most recently to KG, in case you haven't heard) the three year window has taken more of a classic trilogy feel.

Year One: Good guys are introduced, they win the hearts of fans, face some adversity but win spectacularly (blowing up the Death Star/spanking the Lakers) in the end.

Year Two: Bigger expectations, but also bigger and badder villains.  Injuries take their toll and the heroes get beat.  The future looks bleak as Lebron James is on the path to become unstoppable.  Also, Luke gets his hand chopped off/KG gets a bone spur.

Year Three: KG comes back more determined than ever.  Pierce and Allen continue to be great.  They combine with an improved cast of teammates (hopefully not Ewoks) and beat all comers and triumphantly hang Banner 18.

At least that is how I am spinning it to myself now.  It may sound like giving up on this season, but remember that Empire Strikes Back is the best of the Star Wars movies, so I think that these playoffs will be really really good.

Well if sam cassell was still around id say hes a perfect R2D2, But who should play C3PO? mikey moore? BBD? We can all agree that Perk is Chewie. I guess we can make Doc the Princess?
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

Problem is that Luke is a softy; he's got Odom-itis written all over him. In other words, it was the true Star Wars MVP Solo, who got trumped when Vader, vis-a-vis Lando, placed him in carbonite in ESB.

So with that in mind, Solo (ala KG) goes down, the others struggle to make it to the rendezvous point, wherever that was. And Captain Petit, Mo Williams from the Cavs, gets his promotion, due to the rest of the Cavs being lame & getting *choked off* periodically.

But I like the above scenario because Scals is considered our softy so perhaps he can still comeback, and make key plays which can keep our men in the series before the third film.

I guess, in this case, Leia, Chewie, and R2D2 (Pierce, Allen, & Rondo), will have to carry us out of Bespin city (Cavs series).

With Kobe and Lebron the Emperor and Vader, I say that pruitt is an ewok or nu nub (the co pilot with Lando in Jedi)

Pierce is Leia?! The sky really is falling.

Sam Cassell only appeared in the 1st movie... Just like this guy

"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Thanks.

Another analogy could be Rocky III in which the Celtics beat a more physically imposing Thunderlips (the Lakers) in the beginning, but then get too cocky (37-2) and let their guard down and get beat by an up and coming Clubber Lang (Lebron) after the death of Micky (multiple concussions by Scal?), but then bring in a new presence into the locker room (Apollo=summer free agent signing) which slightly changes their look in subtle but surprising ways and then go on to kick's Mr. T's butt in the rematch.

Star Wars seems to work better, though.
