Gerald Green will be a FA this year and could possibly be signed to one of those low risk/high reward contracts. We don't have a first round pick and he's only 24 years old. Maybe he can come in and gel with the new style of play and commit to the defensive side of the ball.

In Dallas he's shown some of that same potential. He's shooting a good percentage but still struggling with TOs, but thats something that our whole team is having problems with so he could learn to fix it with us.


You also have to take into consideration that our wing players aren't getting any more atheletic... Double G is somebody that you can throw on the break and he'll push the tempo, although TA and Billy can do the same thing.

i think that its such low risk that this could be worth it. And i'm not a Gerald superfan.

If this season has taught us anything, it's that there is very little time available to develop youngsters while at the same time trying to win games.  Gerald would be planted at the end of the bench here; we have no need for additional 9th - 12th men.

that works for the "win now" but eventually our whole teams gonna be 40 and our starting five will be Rondo TA Walker Powe Perkins. at some point we need to develop the future.

I'd be just as happy to spend the "developing the future" time and roster space on the guys we already have - read: Walker, Giddens and perhaps even Pruitt - while following Roy's line of thinking with any other available roster space/money.

Fans of the reigning NBA champs are still talking about Gerald Green? Come on. It won't be a sparse offseason this year like last year, he's transparent.

i'm just saying, every other team is drafting a player in the first round and we're not, we could treat him as a first round pick. Who has shown more promise Green or Giddens? besides JR is the same age as Green and he has like 5 years less experience, i just think its worth the risk. Unless of course we resign either Powe or Baby then use leftover money on a more lucrative wing player.

i just looked at a mix of Gerald highlights, and all of his nba highlights are very similar to the stuff that bill is doing, the C's were just forced to rely on him before he was 100% ready. we do need to get some players for the post big 3 celtics though.

yea i know but historically we've always had the next upcoming Star of the team playing off the bench while the previous one was still here. Whenever we didn't we'd have to go through a couple years of bad teams to get another lottery pick, and im afraid that if we accept those years it'll end up being another 20. I just wish Red was still here to configure some super trade to get us another great player. The year we won the championship we drafted Len Bias second overall, thats just insane.

Do you honestly believe Gerald Green has a future with the C's, let alone in the league?

He has had 5 years to develop - and has yet to do so.  He has had opportunities with not only us, but the Twolves and Mavs.

I, too, truly hope this summer Danny seeks legitimate NBA players to strengthen our second five, and stays out of the league's dumpsters - in which Gerald Green has a permanent spot.

The fascination with his peculiar style of brain-dead basketball never ceases to amaze me.
