I thought it was a well officiated game.  As for the technicals, it's difficult to determine if they were warranted without a courtside microphone.
They didn't call it consistently on the inside which frustrated the C's. Also I have a hard time giving Joey much credibility on technical fouls. He has a bad habit of making it personal and inserting himself into the game by Ting up players in national games.

Crawford is terrible.  And he lets his biases show plainly.  I am sure some of those technicals were payback for the fine Doc caused Kennedy to get.

Crawford gave that tech to Duncan for laughing on the bench and tossed him.  He got suspended for that one.  You would think that Stern would recognize that this guy has a problem.

We've seen much worse this year.  I found little to complain about tonight.  We have no idea what prompted the technicals.  League will review those, let the NBA sort those out.

I'll reserve the right to froth at the mouth and drive DJBB nuts another time.

Looked a little like Joey was looking to blow off some steam in a mostly meaningless game, but like others have been saying, we don't know what might have been said.  Still seemed a little quick on the whistle though, and he's got a history of ego tripping out there from time to time.

Ok. I was computerless for a period of time recently. I must have missed something.
Anybody want to fill me in?

I watched the game with a friend who doesn't watch basketball.  He said he didn't understand technicals, so I tried to explain.

http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_12.html?nav=ArticleList

I told him the only real problem with technicals for conduct was that a ref could give a technical for something one game, and ignore it the next game, and that some referees were more prone to technicals and some players would receive them more often than others, even for the same action.

So when I was done he said "It sounds like the problem with technicals is NBA refs."

David Stern, Stu Jackson, GREAT JOB!  This is what casual fans know about your league!

That should have been the end of his career as a ref.

5 technicals agains't one team in a game does raise a red flag in my mind. Most seemed to be called pretty quickly and it didn't appear that any of the people they were called agains't were that angry. Now of course I couldn't here what was being said but still it seem to me to be some kind od personal vendeta. Almost like they were looking for a reason to call a tec. I always thought that refs were suposed to try and defuse these type of problem, not engage in them. Lastly although I couldn't hear what was said, I can see, and that Tec on Moore for knocking of the hand of the guy that was grabbing him was awful.

Amen, brother! I almost turned off the game because of this guy making officiating his own personal side-show.

I actually like Crawford, the techs last night were wrong, he got caught up and called too many. However, Joey is one of the few refs that will go into any city and call the game evenly no matter how loud and angry the crowd gets, especially in the playoffs. He has no problem calling things against stars on their home courts, and that is something I can respect any ref for doing, too bad there are so few.

the problem is joey holds grudges against players.

like the spurs last year. Way to go on that no call that the NBA had to apologize for later joey, just because you loath tim duncan.

Ultimatly, the lakers would have beat them anyway in the series, but your not telling em joey, who was 20 feet away and in perfect position, didn't see barry get wacked.

he's still ticked that he got suspended for challenging TD to a fight in the parking lot, and that was bush league stuff in the playoffs last year.

The "goal tend" they called on perk was a crowed induced call. Good refs dont get caught up and go bizerck with T's.
Back to wanting Joe fired.
