QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"It's going to be Boston. It goes like that every year. Until you knock off the NBA champs, that's the team to beat."

-- Cavs forward LeBron James, on picking the title favorite

The media may be downplaying the Celtics, but the players in the league aren't stupid enough to do that

Well, there goes that "Cavs will be cocky since they beat us by 30 in their home" theory. Not that I believed in it.  ::)

Regardless, I do think he feels that way to an extent as opposed to just talking points for the guys with those black balls on a stick in their hand. If for no other reason because the C's beat the Cavs last year, Lebron doesn't want to fall to Boston again.
Oh yeah, it's go time.

You know, if the C's make it there...

Lebron is good at saying the right thing...I dont know if alot of  players feel this way or say this, the lakers for example havent given the celtics any respect in that manner, and just last week Lamar Odom had a quote saying he had his eye on "cleveland and orlando" completly disregarding the entire western conference and of course the defending champs.

Well whats he supposed to say when asked about that? I think he just did the smart thing by saying the Celtics... I think Bron bron and co. gave the C's enough locker room motivation on Sunday with their 30 point beat down and dance show. Imagine if the most publicized player in the league went on record saying his team is the favorite to win it all? That's even more motivation for Boston, L.A., Orlando, etc.

even when the Celtics were bad he still showed respect to the fact that PP could win a game by himself. He stated earlier in his career that he's the best SF in the east, and he also said that if he could be another player for a day it'd be KG. He KNOWS we're good.

As much as I hate LeCrab on the court, he's obviously not stupid.  LeBron James knows that he is ready, but he's making darn sure with quotes like this that his team doesn't think we're going to be a walk in the park.

I guarantee that he is wondering like us all just how KG is going to show up in rounds one and two.  Plus, we have beaten them quite handily in Boston without Garnett and he knows it can happen again.  So, it is not surprising that he'd say this and possibly actually mean it.  I somehow doubt that Mo Williams really understands how dangerous we are without being reminded and this is most likely what LeBron is doing here.

Exactly, Mo Williams would have said that the Cavs are the favorite

Which doesn't mean much coming from a dude who has a grand total of 75 postseason minutes played in his career.  It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to his first taste of the big stage.

I don't get it - what was LeBron asked?

Looks like hes basically saying he wants to serve the C's
