I've never been a Marbury fan, but the guy's bringing great effort and energy that this team has been decidedly missing, outstanding passing and he's working his butt off on the defensive end to a level I never thought I'd see.

In the chaos of the end of this season, Marbury has been a bright spot, frankly.

some real plusses to the W tonight:

(1) extended playing time for the bench: TA, House, Marbury, Moore.
(2) Leon's first game back and he looks okay.
Celtics fan for life.

TP....powe looked very good and not rusty at all....baby made plays and tony allen could be REAL important in a series with philly...he can defend some of their athletic guys...happy with the comeback and pierce's 30 points looked effortless tonight...good to see him get the 3 ball working

yeah, i think you are right.
I looked back over his game log, and from what I can see, his worst stretch prior to the last two games was Dec 3 and Dec 5, when he went 1 of 8 over those two games (he is 2 of 14 over the current last two games).  After Dec 5 he tore it up going 10 of 16 over the next two games.  Point is, he can be hot and cold...

Celtics fan for life.

and i will trade eddie being a little cold for paul getting his stroke from 3 back...when he is hitting that boston is tough

True. When he's on the court I'm watching Starbury all the way. He sees the floor as well, if not better, than Rondo and his timing on passes is uncanny (especially to House). Also, love the hands on defense.

The nba finals will be won before they start. It's Boston or Cleveland.

but i do think so. i think portland could take them to 7.

It hasn't always been pretty, but this is a team that has learned how to win, or at least thinks it has -- and after last year, frankly I think they have earned the benefit of the doubt.

It's easy to focus on the negatives, especially the uncertainty over KG's health, but I see a win tonight over a playoff team when we're playing without Ray or KG, and with Rondo resting most of the 4th quarter; I see Powe back and playing with his usual efficiency (10pts on 5 shots plus 4 boards in only 14 minutes tonight); I see Marbury providing effort, setting up easy baskets and making some clutch shots when needed; I see TA being effective because he's not being asked to do too much, but rather to concentrate on his strengths; I see Eddie House getting rebounds and steals even when his shot isn't falling; I see Pierce looking sharp and carrying us to a win while playing only 30 minutes; and I see a coaching staff that seems commited to doing just enough to win now, while being strategic about getting the whole team ready to face the elite teams later on.

We have a fighter's chance, and I'll take it.

Crisp passes, low T.O. stats, and he probes the D and resets it if its not there, with the clock down only then takin his jumper... Gotta like it all ~
