If he takes three pointers and gets starting minutes...

BBD has much more of a post up game than Antoine ever had. Plus BBD is solid on defense unlike Mr. Walker.

the ball handling, they're both guards that just kept on growing. Plus i can picture Glen doing the wiggle WAY to easily.

I love watching Big Baby play.  He gives 100% every second he's on the floor and doesn't hesitate at all to dive for a loose ball.  He's a really smart player for such a young kid and makes clutch plays.

It has truly been a joy to watch Davis just grow up before our very eyes in the 2nd half of the season here and especially so in the last 10 games or so. Going back to what may be the lowest point, that game where KG just boned him out on national TV and left Baby crying on the bench, few knew how he would respond. I remember many including myself openly wondering whether this kid would ever get it or be equipped to handle the big stage. That jumpshot wasn't falling, he looked slow out there.

Now BBD is just imbued with swagger and confidence. Whether it's stick his chin out after the HUGE jumpshot in the San Antonio game that left Gorman laughing or lately the spring in his step that has him going to the rack, finishing strong and on defense coming up with some highlight reel rejections including the one in garbage time a few nights ago and my favorite, the one on Joe Johnson where he not only met Johnson at the rim but actually brought the ball down in his own hands himself. He's using his body at both ends much better now. He's made himself a little money this offseason for a raise but I see him returning next season and making his next step in growth.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

I don't agree with that.  Baby is definitely improving, and he had most nice moves last night, but he hasn't shown much of a consistent post-up game.  He has improved his mid-range game though, which is big.  Also, Antoine was a solid team defender.  I know it's popular for people to make fun of Antoine now, and he definitely did many things that made you scratch your head when he played, but he was a solid contributor and the leader of the Celtics for many years.

Antoine had a great post game (especially early in his career).  He just chose to hoist up 3's instead because they were more wiggle worthy.

Seriously, Antoine could put his rear end into any defender then spin on them for a layup at will at times.

Agreed. I personally hate when people bash Toine. I loved watching him because he brought me some of the best moments of my celtic following life. He brought leadership to a team that had a young superstar in the making. Before last season, game 3 of the 2002 ECF was the greatest Celtic memory of all time for me. That happened in part to Antoine Walker's leadership, and also in part to Paul Pierce's greatness.

toine never dove for as many balls, or took as many charges that bbd does.  toine's skill set was alot higher (at least at this stage of bbd's career), but bbd has more heart.

that being said, BBD has been awesome this season.

I'm guessing Big Baby Davis will take about 5 years before he's turned the ball over as much as Antonine did in 2.

I always rooted hard for Antoine, but his turnovers eventually became like daggers to the heart.

So true. I forgot about Toine's turnovers. :-\  The constant dribbling off his foot drove me insane.

BBD does remind me just a little bit of Toine though in that he is a good passer and can handle the ball a little bit for a big man.

That is absolutely not accurate. Antoine could post anyone up in the lower block other than Kenyon Martin who would shut him down. He had legitimate post moves which BBD doesn't really have. He just tries to bull his way through people or flip the shot from the side. Most of the time he gets blocked. He can't score on the block with consistency. Antoine could. He just got lazy out there. BBD is definitely improving his game though other than his rotations have been a little off for a few games. His jumper is getting more reliable and he does a solid job passing the ball.

Let's not forget thought that Antoine was an All-Star caliber player! If he had kept his weight down he would have continued that for quite a few years. It is okay to be pumping up BBD right now, he deserves it, but don't sell employee #8's game short. He was a great Celtic that should always be well thought of by fans.

if antoine walker didn't shoot so many three's , worked on his body and improved his inside game even further he could have been a dangerous player. He could do alot of things most 6'9 do like dribble, pass, play inside- out game, had quick footwork and could rebound.

Once again he failed to become a great player because he didn't play within his limits and didn't improve his conditioning.

I was pretty sad he was traded because he was the captain of the team and the leader.

BBD's attitude and play is also similiar walkers but as of now he plays within his limits and does it superbly
