Matt - first name
G - fist initial last name
12 - number on basically every team I've ever played on, and now my lucky number.

Boring...

I am Rajon Rondo, but I figured if I put that as my screen name people would shower me with too much praise and too many Tommy Points.

I dont think my celtics17 needs any explanation but I would like to add that within 1 week of getting KG it was my email address. I dont know when it became popular on celticsblog but I have had it for a while. If KG is 80% in the first few rounds and gets any better then I will need to change it to celtics18 I guess. By the way, Lakers Fans, boxes of tissues on sale at Wal Mart now, better stock up before you drive the price up in June.

I can't remember exactly when I came up with this but it had to be around the year 2000. I think I had been watching some special or piece about the '86 series and that infamous play by Buckner and how that play would go on to basically immortalize his entire career. Buckner's life really sucked after that play. I remember thinking this guy would someday just snap on jilted Sox fans and go all Ray Finkel(LACES OUT!!) on us. I mean nevermind Stapleton could've been brought in for defense, or that the bullpen had already imploded with 2 outs in the 9th. Nevermind, Stanley actually wild pitched the game-tying run in. Bill makes the play and they could still have lost that game. And again nevermind, the team blew the chance to make that play irrelevant in Game 7.

In any case Buckner would take his revenge or at least pull a Donny Moore and he was bound to end up a 60 Minute Special. So anyway this screenname was born on the ESPN site cuz I figured it was coming sooner or later.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

My girlfriend was going to college in Boston and lived on St. Botolph Street in Back Bay. I was born in 1946. Good girlfriend: we've been married almost 28 years. When I joined CelticBlog I was looking for a name with a Boston connection.

Tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that I'd heard about CelticsBlog for a couple years, but didn't start lurking til they got KG (joined around ASB last year).

Also probably a decent description of my attitude toward sports fandom - I don't frontrun or turn my back when my teams are down, but I definitely pay less attention when I don't enjoy watching them as much.
