Nothing newsworthy I know but I found it an interesting read.

Still, we've never seen anything like this. Especially at a time when it is generally agreed with rules changes it is the most difficult time to defend on the perimeter without committing fouls.

James is averaging 1.72 fouls per game in an average of 37.9 minutes per game. James hasn't even been in foul trouble one game this season. He never has had more than four fouls called on him in a game, and since March 1 is being called for fewer than 1.3 fouls per game.

In 12 of the 20 games since then, James has been called for one or zero fouls in a game. James had a stretch of five straight games to conclude March averaging 36.8 minutes per game without being called for one foul. Not one in five games! In the last nine games, James has been called for three personal fouls. It's really amazing given the involvement James has in the action of the game.

"It's impossible," said one team executive.

after last year playoffs when he got that ridiculous offensive foul call on paul in cleveland and then pulled pp's shirt out of his shorts in game 7 in boston with no call - it was pretty evident that no matter what goes on, there is going to be a strong slant towards Lebron on calls...

it is infuriating but what can you do

wow, that should be impossible! We all know he gets the benefit of the doubt on offense... but defense too? Please.

The dude should average 1.72 charges per game alone!!

By biggest fear this post season (as i have said all season long) is going to be the pro-Lebron calls. It was out of control all year, and only seams to be getting worse.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Lebron james is so good, he's above fouling. I mean what he does may technically BE a foul, but he's so talented, its not one. Like water to wine.

Tough to beat a player who gets 1.72 fouls per 38 minutes and he gets away with at least 1 traveling violation (that is not called) each game. No wonder why Lebron is considered the King. Hopefully, he can be like Jack Nicholson and not be able to Handle the Truth.

This is really shocking (and disgusting). I thought the others stars of the league were deserving the same treatment too so I made a research but LeBron is clearly being spared by the referees. Here are some stars and their personal foul average for this season :

Wade 2,20
Kobe 2,30
Ray Allen 2,00
Paul Pierce 2,70 (!)
Joe Johnson 2,20
Kevin Garnett 2,20
Pau Gasol 2,10

It's obvious LeBron is getting a star treatment far superior to the others stars. Last year he was averaging 2,20 foul per game in 40 minutes. I can't believe that playing 37 minutes helps him avoiding fouls...

(And just for fun :
Mikki Moore
with the Kings this season 2,40
with the Celtics 3,90)

LOL. When Mike said Flip Murray had never fouled out in his career I was wishing he'd give Mikki some tips after the game.

Yeah and it doesn’t bode well for the playoffs that his foul rate has been declining. Star treatment drawing fouls on offense is one thing but adding this on defense equals handcuffing the opponent. I really wish the league would understand some of us actually watch pro-sports for the competition and don't want to see all the competitiveness and excitement sucked out of the game.

Sorry that's never been the case on defense.  This is LBJ's league.  The C's are going to have to beat them bad in Cleveland.
