Yesterday's Hall of Fame announcement spurred the thought process of the following list.

My 5 favorite basketball single season team rosters of all time

#5.  1993 Phoenix Suns
With Barkley, Ainge, Chambers, Kevin Smith & Dan Majerle.  This team was a ton of fun to follow all year long.

#4.  2007 Boston Celtics
Ray Allen, KG, Pierce, Posey, Rondo & Doc.  No comments needed.

#3.  1986 Boston Celtics
Larry, Kevin, DJ, Danny, Robert, Walton.  Best NBA team ever in my mind.  DJ belongs in the Hall of Fame and would give this team 5 in the Hall.

#2.  1992 Olympic Dream Team
Larry, Magic, Charles, Clyde, Stockton, et al.  Best team ever. I loved this team.  10 Hall of Famers (only Mullen and Laetner not making it - yet)

#1.  1984 Boston Celtics
Bird, Mchale, DJ, Henderson, Ainge, Maxwell, ML Carr, Chief.  Greatest NBA finals ever.

I know, it may be blasphemous to have non-Celtic teams listed, especially over the 81 team, but it's just my opinion.

Call me a sap, but I love my kids more than anything!

I just realized that 4 of my five favorite teams are associated with Danny Ainge.  That's very odd.

"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

1. 2007-08 Boston Celtics
2. 2004-05 Boston Celtics
3. 1995-96 Kentucky Wildcats
4. 1995-96 Massachusetts Minutemen
5. 1998-99 Boston Celtics (We said favorite, not the best.  Ron Mercer is still my favorite player, and i still copy some of his moves to this day.)
