ESPN is reporting that Manu Ginobili is out for the rest of the season and the playoffs.  It's not on their website yet, but here is a link to another story on it:

Looks like the Lakers' road to the Finals just got a lot easier.  Crap.

Well, that sucks.  I was hoping San Antonio would challenge L.A.  Unlike a lot of people on here, I don't mind the Spurs.

That stinks, though if you watched the Spurs-Cavs game yesterday it was obvious that Manu was not himself.  However, are we sure this isn't just some kind of meta-flop?  He's accomplished all he can in the arena of faking contact/pain during a game, so extending it to the season as a whole might be the next logical step.

Also, Stu, I have a bone to pick with your avatar, since as we all know, Disco Stu does NOT advertise.  ;)

Bummer for the Spurs.  I have no problem with them and was looking forward to a good Spurs-Lakers series.

Too bad, I want the Lakers to not make the Finals.

Looks like the Lakers can coast to the Finals once again.  Oh well, that didn't turn out too bad last year.  8)

And no Ginobili is better for the Spurs than what he was last year.  He gave it a valiant effort, but he had no business being on the floor in the WCF.  It just hurt the team.

That ends the Spurs title chances. McGrady's injury ended Houston's. Portland haven't gotten their act together. Denver just isn't that good.

Utah and New Orleans look the most serious challengers -- and Utah can't defend Kobe Bryant, nor high post big men ......

New Orleans can't beat LA in a seven game series if Bynum is healthy.

That really blows. I would've loved to see a Spurs/Lakers series when both squads were fully healthy.  Also, I would've had absolutely no issues seeing a Celtics/Spurs finals.

Spurs-Celtics is the dream finals for me, partly because Tim Duncan is one of my two favorite non-Celtics and because I live about an hour and a half from San Antonio. Can you imagine: Duncan-Garnett, Pierce-Ginobli, Parker-Rondo, Allen-Bowen. For seven games! A fan of basketball, as opposed to of Stern's hype machine, knows that would be a series for the ages, easily the best matchup since the 80s Lakers-Celtics finals.
