I dont miss PJ brown...at all

he came here to win a ring, retired and wouldnt come back to help repeat.
He seems like a great guy, and he hit a big shot in a game 7, other then that his contributions to last years team are greatly overrated, and even irritating

Example:
Mikki moore has already played over 140 more minutes in the regular season for us then PJ did last season, and 1 more game
Mikki has scored 84 pts and grabbed 84 rebounds and is shooting 57% (37 of 64), Last regular season PJ scored 30 pts and grabbed 68 rebounds while shooting 34% (14 of 41) in the regular season.

Can we equate in the negative stuff somehow for Mikki?

Would that change the fact that PJ Brown brought us next to nothing last regular season, and was an overrated contributor in the playoffs? (2 or 3 good plays, other then that complete mediocrity)

Well, I was talking about PJ's contribution in the playoffs but overall his presence was a plus for the team. I mean, you're not seriously saying that he was "overrated" because he did nothing in the regular season but hit "a big shot" (I think you overlook how big it was, if he hadn't make it the C's would probably have lost the game) in the game 7 against Cleveland?

Noone wanted him taking that shot (because he had been so awful up until then)

and no I dont subscribe to any notion we dont win that game if it wasnt for PJ...ah yes, pierce goes mano a mano with lebron, and its PJ browns jumpshot that we wouldnt have won without...what about the freethrows we made thereafter, the jumpball? etc etc... we dont know what happens if PJ doesnt take or make that shot...hmm maybe paul pierce hits a 3? I just think its dumb to think "if it wasnt for PJs jumper celtics dont win that game"

I not only think hes overrated because he literally brought us nothing in the regular season but because he averaged 2/2 in the playoffs, and Leon shouldve been playing more then him. and like youre saying "we dont win without PJ"
Overrated.

James Posey..now theres a guy I miss

Of course PJ's shot is not the only reason why the Celtics won this game but it's a big part of it, including his 10 points on 4/4 shooting. On this play he is left wide open while Pierce is double teamed, and the others players (House, KG and Ray) are guarded. If he doesn't make that shot the Cavaliers are down 1 with 1:20 to go, they can easily go for a basket in the paint or obtain a foul. Thanks to PJ's shot, they are down 3 and Delonte Weste attempts a 3 on a set play, which he misses and then we have the famous jumpball and the possession that Pierce saves thanks to his hustle.

It would be stupid to resume the whole game to PJ's clutch shot but you can't overlook how big he was in this game, especially in the last minutes, and during the playoffs (the stats don't say everything).

PJ was a good solid player in the league BEFORE he came to the Celtics.  A workhorse you could always count on.  He was signed to his (1/4?) year deal and helped us out, hit a big shot and was an all around plus to have with team.  I however think too many fans think PJ was the end all , much like posey (who was waaay more important).  PJ as a 50 year old  ;) sub for us last year played good in the playoffs, regular season egh  :-\ . I think Davis this year is finally showing the energy level needed from him, Powe is a beast and Moore for <10 minutes a game (scal baby?) means the backup pf spot pj had is filled and then some!

The overrated part is subjective, which you're entitled to, and no, he didn't do much in the regular season, but since we're putting him up in a numbers game against Mikki, I think it's fair to bring up that PJ was seldom a negative factor on the court - as Mikki has often been.

PJ brown was a negative factor on the court for pretty much all of his 341 regular season minutes... he shot 34%, wasnt in game shape and didnt know the system

I also dont remember anything from him at all in the playoffs until that jumpshot in game 7, a couple blocks, and my favorite : the dunk on kobe bryant

 also
Pj brown Didnt have to play much at first, and didnt .
Mikki has already been thrown into the fire, hasnt been able to just sit around, practice and get comfortable ala PJ brown

This sleeping dog whould remain in permanent recline.

Suffice it to say that 'legend' is always greater than reality -- and that is OK by me with regard to PJ.   PJ had a solid NBA career and seemed a good guy and good teammate.  He'll be, and should be, remembered in Boston as a guy who made a clutch shot in an important game along the way to a championship.  Can't we just thank him for that in the same grateful way in which we remember guys like Glen McDonald and Gerald Henderson and then move onto the development of new legends for this run (who knows -- Walker? Pruitt? Mikki???)?
