Just curious to see what % of Celtics fans are also Red Sox fans, and what % aren't.  Feel free to post your team.  I'm estimating it's about 50%.

I'm a Red Sox fan since birth.

The Guru hails from Brooklyn, and when the Dodgers left for the Left Coast, his heart went with them.  I picked up the Bums via heredity.

Of my major out-of-NY-market teams, that's the one that makes sense (less certain about the Celts link for Pops, though I inherited them from him as well).

I'm a Red Sox fan.  I'm also a fan of smacking people upside the head that start "Yankees Suck" chants at Celtics games, or anywhere else that isn't a Red Sox-Yankees game.

Yep, I'm a Sox fan.  The only Boston-area team I don't root for is the Pats.

AGREED! If you're any kind of a sports fan, and not a fan of antagonizing people for little to no reason, you do not do this outside of Fenway when the Yankees are in town or at the Stadium. I'm sick of hearing that stupid chant at places like Celtics-Bobcats, Bruins-Senators, Patriots-Bills, and the John Legend concert back in early December. TP
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

LOL...The whole Yankees Suck thing is really tired.  It was fun to say when the Sox sucked and the Yankees didn't, but now that the Sox don't suck, and the Yankees somewhat suck, where's the joy?

But yeh, saying it a Celts game is extra asinine.

hey CW35, what's your going rate for attending other team's ballparks to levy justice in that department?

I'm a lifelong Yankee hater, but the absurdity of Mets fans never ceases to amaze me.  As I may have mentioned before, I caught a Mets-Giants game at Shea when Mets fan broke out a "Yankees suck" chant because they saw the Yanks go down 1-0 in the middle innings on the out of town scoreboard - *while the Mets were batting with RISP in the bottom of the ninth of a tie game.*

The most ridiculous part was that after years of watching the Mets at home, I wasn't remotely surprised.

Anti-Yankee sentiment always arises some fellow-feeling in me, but there's a problem when it overtakes one's love for his/her own team.  Time and place, people, time and place.

Love all of Boston's pro teams, Red Sox included.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

Hmmm; In a situation as egregious as that one, a smack upside the head just won't do.  Weaponry would have to be involved.  That costs extra.

Tough negotiator, CW.   ;)  Sadly, with the move into Citi Field, I can't even offer to front the price of admissions these days...$30 to watch a baseball game from the rafters?  How should this possibly cost me more than certain basketball games?   :-\

I second that.  Sox, C's, Dolphins.  If I was forced to only root for one sports, I'd have to go with the Sox, and the decision wouldn't be that tough either.

The Red Sox are my MLB team. But I have followed the Wichita St Shockers baseball team over the years. Doug Mirabelli went to Wichita St.

chalk my answer up to a "yes".
I'm soon moving to NYC, which should be interesting....
{gotta find myself a Sox bar, let alone a Cs bar and Pats bar...}
Celtics fan for life.
