... knows no limits.

From today's Rockets-Lakers game: "Some people are just born shooters, like Ray Allen. Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, has worked very hard to develop this type of shot".

I guess Ray just plays cards with the Garden janitors for several hours a day, then.  ::)

They showed Ray 4 hours before today's game practicing his shot. I guess a non-born shooter like Kobe come in 6 hrs earlier  ::)

Half of me knows that Ray works on his shot really hard every day.  The other half knows that he is more of a natural shooter than Kobe is.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

IMO it seems almost your looking for something to draw your ire with this one. All very good NBA players do a lot of extra work but I do believe there is such a thing as a natural stroke and Ray has it. Without all the work he does he would be probably a slightly above average shooter instead probably the greatest in the NBA currently.

I'm pretty sure Ray Allen gets a little ticked off whenever he hears that.  It just discounts all of the hard work he puts in day after day.

I teach third grade and shoot basketball with the kids at recess every day. It's amazing that a few kids ,who have never been coached, have such amazing natural form.

Wow...what ignorance...I agree Ray is more of a pure shooter then Kobe obviously, but I also know he works on his shot as much or more then anyone in the league to mantain it

Ray was born blessed with the coordination, but his hard work gave him the stroke we see today?

Which broadcaster made the comments? The funny part was that I watched that Rockets/Lakers game last night but I had the sound off lol.

If it was Mark Jackson i'd say "he's better than that".

Let me guess was it Mark "Kobe Bryant is the greatest player on the planet" Jackson who said this?
It just irritates me when people don't realize it is sacrifice and dedication that makes people great at what they do. Having the talent isn't enough without the hard work. Stupid comparison. Its well-publicized how hard Ray works on his shooting.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Jackson is awful without Van Gundy keeping him in check.  Too much air time is a bad thing for Jackson...... and his Laker bias really comes out too.

The whole "born shooter idea" is just plain ridiculous.  You don't think guys who are considered "born shooters" like Ray Allen, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, etc... didn't spend thousands of hours in gyms and playgrounds shooting jumpers to get where they are?  Also, once in the NBA, you don't think that they're still in the gym practicing? These are the last guys that you would consider to be complacent.  The term "born shooter" makes it sounds like they were born with this gift (silver spoon in hand) and that they didn't have to work for it?   What a joke...

Everyone knows Ray Allen was draining the three ball as a fetus.

Oh give me a break. Just another reason to hate the media. I'm going to miss Mike and Tommy during the playoffs.

National broadscasters are often rich and famous to some degree, this equals ladies, and that equals basketball taking a back seat. I endorse such ignorance's, fully.
