Alright. This topic is here mostly because I saw this list today:

Now, I do understand that this isn't final, but it did get me all giddy and excited about the playoffs again. I'm really looking forward to see the east playoff series. There's so many teams that I 'like', and so many possible outcomes...

Here's my team-by-team breakdown of why I'm looking forward to it:

Cavaliers: No need to tell you why I want to see them slaughter whatever their first round opponent will be. The C's haven't had that many blowout victories this season and if there's any routs in the playoffs, it will be the rout the Cav's will cause in their games 1 to 4. (or so I believe) Plus I want to see how Mo will do.

The Bulls: D.Rose. Honestly, I wish he'd become the next MJ, mainly because he's wearing a Bulls Jersey. That would be RAD. (not gonna happen though, esp. if they go up against the Cavs :D)

Magic: Again, no need to explain really. Looking forward to how far the best big man in the league (imo then :P) will perform in this years playoffs. Plus I wonder how their 3pt shooting will be when it REALLY matters.

Pistons: I've always been a secret fan of the Pistons. The general nasty attitude that they've been known for ages ago still appeals to me in a sick and twisted sort of way.

Celtics: DOH.

76ers: erm... honestly no idea. What are they doing in here?

Atlanta: My favourite underdog for some strange reason. I want to see them do well, but not too well (aka.: lose against the C's please :P)

Miami: D-Wade. Come on, you must admit he is fun to watch. I'd like to see him pull some heroics. Don't know what to expect though, haven't seen them much this year.

Well, that's just my feelings on this list. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys add some of your views on the teams that are looking at a playoff spot right now :)

Am I the only one here that thinks that either way (2 or 3 seed) we have an easier path to the Eastern Conference Finals this year than last?

This years Pistons or the 76ers should be a 4-1 win or 4-2 at worst.

Then assume we get the Magic.  They are not better than last years Cavs.  I say 4-2 if we are the #2 and have home court.  Might go 7 if they have homecourt with same result.

Assuming the Cavs keep on rolling, the ECF is the only part that would be tougher.  The Cavs are superior to last years' Pistons and they'd have home court.

Are we all thinking like this?  I don't think this was done with my green shades on.   ;)

Green shades are on.  Last year, did you think ATL would take us to 7?  How bout Cleveland?

Last year, Atlanta, I was surprised.  Cavs...no.

I'm mainly worried cuz a lot of teams got a lot better. That scares me. Might be because I've put off my green glasses a while ago to see what's happening in the rest of the NBA.

Aside from a few minutes against the Pacers Perk and Paul may have played, we went into last year's playoffs without any of our top 6 having been in a playoff game as teammates. That's pretty much why Atlanta took us to 7 games.

Charlotte could still get in and give one of the top three a lot of trouble. Let's suppose they overtake the Bulls and Pistons and get to the 7th seed. Also Boston moves up to 2nd seed.

The matchups with Charlotte are not that great for us. And if Garnett is limited we can look forward to more games like last night in the playoffs.
