Kinda weird reaction from Posey in a game against the Knicks.  A call was made and he gunned the ball at the foot of the ref.  He's always been dirty, this was different from anything he's done against other players though, weird play.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

He's always been a dirty player. Plus, he got a DUI in the past. I'm not sure why every Celticsblog poster is infatuated with him. He hit some threes and played average to good defense. However, he still got burned by Kobe in the finals. Good Riddance to you James Posey.

So our defense and scoring off the bench is better off without him?

A DUI?!?!  Lord, why didnt someone mention this before?  A DUI before he was even a member of the team completely changes my viewpoint of what he adds to the Celtics.

Wasn't Pierce caught driving drunk in Vegas this offseason? Good riddance to him!

Ah, what would a week be without some revisionist history on this blog as it pertains to James Posey ...

There would have been an emptiness inside me.

I was there tonight and spent most of my evening watching James - and no Hornet starter was allowed to touch the floor without the classic Pose embrace.  Couple of nice defensive plays as well.  Disappointing to see him ejected.

Pierce was pulled over, but was not driving drunk. I don't believe he got a ticket or anything.

You're seeing frustration set in seeing as the Hornets are not as good as they were last year.  Posey is still kicking himself for not re-signing with the Celtics. ;D

A dirty player is a good player to have on your team, especially a smart dirty player

who gives a crap about his DUI...that happened before he was a celtic and he paid his consequences long ago

He hit some threes....in the biggest spots in the biggest games the celtics have played in 22 years ( and all season)

And he got burned by Kobe? oh my, the best player on the planet scored on him?

Noones infatuated with him...he was just a pretty big piece to the puzzle last year when we won a championship and a class guy...its ok to still like him

Our defense and scoring off the bench is twenty-five million dollars better off without him.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
It simply is unfair to downplay his contributions last year, and simply dishonest to say the Celtics wouldn't be better if they still had him.

Stupid play by James, a simple quick reaction, we all have done it at least once, when as soon as you do it, you wish you hadn't, only difference is his was in a pro sports game.
