Return of Starbury?

I know a bunch of Celtics fans doubted Marbury's skills  and thought he would never improve...but guess what? Seems like he's returned.

He seems to be improving A LOT. For those of you watching the Celts @ ATL game, Marbury is a KILLER. 3 3's so far, and his defense is ON POINT. I'm convinced that he's only going to get better come Playoffs. Ol' boy Danny sure did a good job picking up Marbury. Thoughts on this?

Calm down buddy.....making 3 shots hardly redeems him.

Yeah man, it has, at least in this game. He's been actually sticking to his man and not wandering around the paint. Well, I actually might have exaggerated that a bit by saying his defense was on point, but it definitely has improved.

EDIT: Oh yeah, 3 shots doesn't redeem him? May I remind you his shooting percentage from the 3-pt. line was 17%. I find it hard to believe that shooting three 3's in a row is mere luck. It seems to me that he has indeed shaken off his rust.

Best player on the court tonight has been Baby.  But, I agree Marbury seems to be amidst the best game of his Celtic career (I know -- not saying much).  He has been active on D -- has got his hands on the ball a couple of times. But, it's the 3-threes that are generating the excitement.  Hopefully, he'll drive to the hoop, fake the dish, and score the basketball at some point tonight.  After that, I will start to believe.

I remember seeing Kedrick Brown hitting 3 shots in a row once.  Also, this isnt the first game hes hit 3 shots.  3 shots dude.  It's 3 shots.  Im happy hit shot fell tonight too, but c'mon its one game.  I agree with what the other guy said, let him keep it up for 10 games before we all go out and buy 20 dollar shoes.

Im not usually a negative guy, and I want Marbury as his old self just as much as the next guy, but if we're throwing parties for Marbury hitting 3 shots, then you know somethings wrong.

Eh...  I don't think people are being overly negative when they ask a player to have more than one decent game before saying he's turned a corner. 

Starbury had shot 13-for-55 in March prior to tonight's game.  This could be the start of something good, or it could be just a repeat of his first night in a Celtics uniform, when he went 4-for-6 (the only other game this year that he's shot above 45%).

Two quick things:

1) I do agree that it's too early to say that Marbury's turned the corner; however, one good game at this point might be enough to get his confidence on track.

2) He needs to shoot more.  It's great he can distribute, but right now I'd settle for handling the ball and scoring.  In the playoffs, he's only going to play 15 or so minutes a game and it will only be with 1 or 2 of the starters.  It's OK if he shoots the ball a lot.  He should look to score when it's only him, the bench, and one starter on the floor.  Hopefully he picks that up.

Quite true. This thread reminds me of the numerous Internet attempts to annoint Gerald Green the Einstein of Hoops after one of the rare games when he didn't mentally implode on the floor.

He looked more confident tonight and seemed to have more of a bounce in his step.  His defense didn't look too bad either.  We'll see what happens.

I don't like marbury, have never liked him.  But if he can play like he did last night he will help us towards another title.  Hard to think he might have been lacking confidence?  He showed the jump shot that has been missing which will open up his driving/dishing game AND immediately after the first 3 his swagger was back.
