front page has rondo in the lineup tonight on two sprained ankles, says he is "expected to be slowed by ankles"

well, if the whole rap of "we just want to be healthy, we dont care about HC against orlando" is true, why play him?

I'm of the opnion that rajon should take the next few nights off, along with KG if reports out of orlando that he felt "wrong" are correct.

I hate to say it, but I don't think KG is going to be healthy for the rest of this year. As for Rondo, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him on the bench for a few games.

Yeah Crownsy, this is what we were talking about yesterday. I just don't think he's right yet nad gain, if it is something that he can't be right with until some minor surgery and if by sitting now for another 3 wks probably won't affect anything more than us losing homecourt against Orlando ( and I'd still say that's an "if" even without KG, then why not just sit him down again until it really, really matters. I'd rather hims tart the playoffs feeling good then limping into it because we've played him in what are basically 9-10 more inconsequential games

We've already lost homecourt to the Cavs and Lakers, no one else will catch us outside of Orlando even if we go 5-4 over our last 9...and I'd say we might be abale to still win Homecourt over Orlando in a horse race without KG these last nine games...

Just give him more rest now...

This falls in line with my fear that KG's injury situation might be a lot more serious than they are letting on.

I think Rondo's speed is a huge part of his game, and having problems with his ankles makes him be at 50% of his potential. I would rather rest him for a couple of games in order to have him back full speed for the Playoffs, witch will also allows Marbury's minutes to increase in these games without RR and take that rust out of him.
As far as KG, at this point of the season there is not much we can do about it but limit his minutes and increase them when it really matters and hope for the best, but he is not new in this game and he has played in pain plenty of games in his whole career and he knows his body limitations and he will do it fine.
We really need them both in order to succeed in the offseason.
Go Celts!!

Only a lunatic wouldn't care about having HCA over Orlando. The fact that we can still win without HCA is kind of immaterial. By that reasoning, we should only aim for the 8th seed, as we can win versus any team without HCA.

As long as the players don't runt he risk of aggravating the injuries or getting re-injured, they should play.

well, obviously.

My point was that doc and danny have been saying for weeks that they would rather have everyone healthy, to the point of sticking firm to not putting KG in for 3-4 criticle minutes in a 2 point loss.

and now they are going to put rondo out there (reportedly.) which doesn't jive with what they have been saying. (and doing if you count KG)

i too am puzzled...i don't think KG will be anywhere near 100 percent even by limiting his minutes but i do think he could have given boston 4 strong minutes to help win the game vs orlando..and that win would have given them a solid hold on the 2 seed....and they could have worked the plan from this point forward...i just think the injuries will be too much for them to overcome in the playoffs...i mean powe is still not even close...KG??? who even knows how many minutes he could give them......PP looks tired...rondo has bad ankles and is still playing...at this point they CANNOT lose the 3 seed....so rest them....

I understand what Doc means when he says he's not concerned about Homecourt advantage against Orlando if we're healthy adn I agree with him. Of course, you always want Homecourt advantage even if you're playign a Geriatric squad but the point is if we're 100% healthy, I'd give Orlando a snowball's chance in hell of beating us. They have homecourt and we're healthy, I say we take that series 4-1, 4-2, max.

The main teams I'm worreid about not having homecourt against are Cleveland & LA.

I'd rather KG takes more time off.

Again, if it won't make a difference

It seems as if often times injury reports and "gametime decisions" are little more then a ploy to detract the opposition. I remember so many times in the playoffs when McHale was a "gametime decision" and then he came out and destroyed the opposition. This kind of thing may be used more in serious games then regular season but I think there is an element of deception in it at times.

What they say is not to be taken seriously.

I think KG isn't fully healthy, that's why they can't risk more than they are already doing.

the more i think about it, the more i think we should just shelve KG and Rondo for a chunk of time (KG probably more) and take our lumps over the next couple of weeks.

Mar and Moore will get the burn that they probably need and hopefully all the key guys will be the healthier because of it...

I like the way he's monitored KG's minutes all season and I really wish he'd do the same for the other starters. He's been better lately but he's usually too willing to play fast and loose for my liking. Having everyone healthy and fresh should be the most important thing. Homecourt probably won't be that useful if the team is basically a fresh KG surrounded by tired and banged up players.
