I prefer the idea of taking it easy for the remainder of the season and getting prepared for the playoffs. Something tells me this team has a few more gears to go up, and come April 18th, they'll do so.

Agreed. A healthy KG and Rondo and rested Ray and Paul > one extra home game

Part two, then...if not...then why not have scoped ( assuming six weeks ) and take your chances we could get through the first round without him and roll the dice on having him healthy for rounds 2-3 and beyond...?

alot of specualtion I know, but not much else to talk about right now.

well, but the scope doesnt really do anything if a surgery situation is found. The most you can go in and do is clean up some loose tissue, but that inflames the joint, and your probley talking a month or two after that, and if they find loose tissue they are going to want to find wear it came from, which likely means an operation.

This is one sports injury i can speak on, i tweaked my knee in the 3rd game of junior year playing football, and while it wasent "right" i played on it until the end of the season, and had it scoped. they found a partial tear and i had to go under the knife.

when i say right, it didnt hurt so much as not give me the drive i thought it would at times, feel "loose", and generally feel awkward.

I think they know he will probley need minor surgery and its more than a strain. i doubt its a major surgery, or they wouldn't be risking him (my tear had a very low chance of being completely torn by continuing to play, it was very small), but to really fix it and give him 100% of his strength in the leg back, your talking the next 2 months probabley, to heal up and get back to being able to work out?

I think they would rather try to get what they can out of him and try to make a run. A 85% KG is better than a inactive KG.

from KG's quotes to Doc's quote about pushing the minutes up ...i think KG is just getting into basketball shape...i think he won't be 100 percent but i think he will be close

as it was released when the injury first occurred, he needs to be heeled fully to avoid risking re-injury.  with this type of knee injury, doctors have stated that if he pushes it too much too soon and re-injures it, he will be all the way back at square one.  there is no "tweaking" it, only full scale injury.  so, doc is doing the smart thing in taking baby steps.

If KG wasn't so devastated by not being able to play, I might be with the "shut it down till the playoffs" crowd. I'm not worried about his timing. His timing was right on the first game back.

the only thing that mattes to me is how his knee feels and right now if you notice he doesn't even come down fully on it when he lands.

that said, he might lose his mind if he had to sit out some more.....tough call, man. tough call.

i think there is going to be soreness from being inactive for a few games...but i expect Doc wouldn't talk about increasing minutes if he felt he wasn't good

Yeah, thanks for the explanation crownsy. In that case the injury probably would've have had to have happened a little earlier to make sense to do the scope and then have him back in time. As someone else said though I do beleive a healthy KG could get back into the swing of things quickly after a two month layoff, he's that kind of athlete.

And yeah, very tough call what to do in this situaiton. Actually who knows the situation, maybe he's 100% and he;'s just stiff from coming back into the games. maybe that's all it is.

My gut feeling is that it's like Crownsy said, probably some minor work he'll need done in the off season to get it 100%.

I'll say this, if he's moving the way he is right now for the rest of the playoffs, I don't think we see #18 this year.

Here's hoping he fully recovers. KG travelled a long, long way to get to have this shot at winning at this level. It would be nice if his body would give him these three to four years to enjoy it after all he's given the game, the fans.
